Shank Recommendation for a Curt Weight Distribution System to Allow for Additional Drop
Updated 04/18/2016 | Published 04/16/2016 >
Question:
Hello, I have recently purchased a Curt Weight Distribution System from you model 17051. In setting it up per the directions, we have the ball at the lowest setting on the shank, but are still 2.75inch higher than the target ball height. It seems to be too high, but would like to get confirmation. If it is, in fact, too high. What its the recommended solution? We have a 2013 Dodge Durango AWD and a Trail-Cruiser C243S camper. Thank you, in advance, for your quick response.

You want to set the ball height adjustment so that the trailer is being towed as level as possible. Sometimes with weight distribution systems the included shank does not provide enough drop to allow this so then you would need to get a shank that allows for more drop.
The part # C17123 will provide you with the additional drop you would need. I attached a picture with dimensions on it for you to check out as well.
