Can Replacement Trailer Tires Be Filled With Foam

Question:
Can these replacement trailer tires be foam filled?

Expert Reply:
Filling tires with foam is a fairly common practice for farm or agricultural use, but our tire expert tells me that it's not a recommended practice for trailers that will be operated on paved roads.
Once the foam is added to the tire, you've removed most of the flexibility of the tire which can cause a rougher ride, the vibrations from the rougher ride can be transferred to the tow vehicle. In some cases, the foam can deteriorate the inner liner of the tire. If your trailer has brakes, the harder tires could have a negative effect on braking.
