Question:
205 65 10 Kenda Loadstar tires. For a golf cart. I do about 10 road mile a per day. Have worn out 3 sets of tires in two years. My friends use Kenda tires 3 years with no noticeable wear. I have aluminum wheels on my cart and dont want to risk breaking one when getting tires mounted. Will the 10 ply last longer than the 6 ply as far as tread wear? Would mounting the 10 ply instead of the 6 ply increase the risk of damage to the wheels?

Expert Reply:
The 205/65-10 Kenda Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1HP56 is absolutely going to be durable enough to last in part because it is a 10 ply tire and also because it is a bias tire, which means it has a stiffer sidewall and is perfect for a golf cart. Mounting a 10 ply instead of a 6 ply will definitely not increase the risk of damage to your wheels and a pro tire shop should be able to successfully mount these tires without issue or damage.
The most important thing you can do to ensure the best performance is inflate the tire to its maximum psi, which you can find on the sidewall. For this load range E tire that is 90 psi.
Additionally you will need to upgrade your wheel's valve stem to the Americana Metal, Bolt-In Valve Stem # AM20906 because your wheel may not have the capacity to handle 90 psi. This valve step is rated for up to 200 psi and simply fits in your wheel's standard 0.453" or 0.625" rim hole on the wheel.
