Purpose of the 2 Side Bolts on the Ranch Hitch Adapter part # AM3100
Published 12/21/2015 >
Question:
The two small bolts on either side come loose a lot why. That cause a screech and I need to tighten them often. If these bolts come out what could the damage be. Im sure thsee bolts should not come loose so often. Camping World put this V19 on and three years later Im still having the same problem. May I ask is this the norm for this hitch

The set bolts on the side of the Ranch Hitch part # AM3100 are for keeping the height adjustment from moving. You will want to verify that 180 ft lbs of torque are put on those bolts otherwise they may continue to keep coming loose.
If they were to totally loosen the adapter would fall down to the lowest height range and then could potentially separate from the lower piece and cause your trailer to be disconnected.
