Yes, you can install a brake controller in your 2016 Audi Q5 but there are some additional items you will need. The vehicle will need to be equipped with a 7-Way trailer connector and the first step to do that is to install a 4-Way trailer connector.
For a 4-Way trailer connector I recommend # 119250KIT. Once this harness is installed you can add a 7-Way. To add a 7-Way and get all of the wiring and other components needed to install a brake controller I recommend installation kit # ETBC7. I have included some links that show and explain the installations for you.
The last piece of the puzzle is a brake controller. I recommend the P2 # 90885 because it's easy to set up and use and it's reliable.
