Recommendation for an A-Frame Jack with a Lower Retracted Height Than 8 Inches
Updated 06/22/2024 | Published 12/18/2015 >
Question:
I have a Ram 2000 series a frame trailer jack, that has a minimum height of 8 inches. I need a shorter minimum height as the bottom of the jack with the wheel removed contacts the street as I drive out of the driveway. If not Ill cut 1 inch off the bottom.

Good news, I can help you find an A-frame jack that has a lower retracted height than 8 inches.
One of the lowest retracted height A frame jacks I was able to find is our part # TJA-2001-B. This jack has a retracted height of 5-1/8 inches.
I was also able to find 2 jacks in the 5 inch range. The ProSeries # PS1401000303 has a retracted height of 5-1/2 inches and the wheel recommended for it is the # PS1400750340. Or Bulldog # BD155033 which has a retracted of 5-3/8 inches and the recommended wheel for this jack is # BD500245.
I've linked some of the products for your convenience.

All the shortest retracting jacks are top crank. Because of propane tank storage I'd need one that works with a drill or is side crank. Do either of these?
