Replacement for Missing Key on Yakima DoubleDown 5 Hitch Mounted Bike Rack

We have lost the key to our Yakima Double down 5 bike hitch rack and I need to either get the key number or replace the lock. Do you either have the key number or know which parts I need to replace the lock?

Expert Reply:
In order to obtain the key number, you'll have to have a locksmith pick the lock (if it's locked), then use a # Y8007835 Yakima control key to remove the lock cylinder. On the outside of the cylinder, you'll find the lock number, as shown in the provided photo.
Once the lock is removed, if it's not damaged you can simply order a replacement key. For instance, if you discovered the lock number was A152, you'd order the # Y8772-A152 replacement key. The part number for the correct key would be Y8772-XXXX with the x's representing the lock code number.
If the lock was damaged, you can simply order a replacement. If your DoubleDown 5 has the hitch and the cable lock, you can order two lock cylinders that are keyed alike, part # Y07202. If you only needed 1 lock cylinder, you can order the cylinder, part # Y8771-A135 and the key, part # Y8772-A135.
