What type of battery do I need to use this in my work shop?? Which one would you recommend??

Expert Reply:
To operate a DC powered winch such as # 1120210 that is not installed on a vehicle you will need a 12 volt battery with a high enough amp hour rating for the draw of the winch under load. Superwinch LT2000 Electric Utility Winch # 1120210 draws 100 amps when used at it's capacity of 2,000 lbs. With zero line pull it draws 10 amps. Batteries are expensive so a regular truck battery with a high amp hour rating would work well.
I also recommend using a CTEK battery charger # CTEK56353 to not only charge the battery but also to maintain and recondition it.
If you are interested in an AC powered winch you can plug into an outlet the most cost effective model we carry is # DL25514. A wire rope is included.
