LED Lights on Cargo Carrier Not Working When Connected to a 2011 Mercedes Sprinter 3500

Question:

I have a similar question to this one: LED Trailer Tail Lights Not Working when Connected to a 2011 Mercedes GL550 I have a 2011 Mercedes Sprinter Cargo van 3500. The vehicle reciver has a seven blade hook up which includes the blades for brakes. It works with trailers with regular bulbs and trailers with LED lights. I just got a storage box to fit into the reciever with LED lights for running lights, turn signals and brake lights. When I hook up a seven blade connector with only five blades active to the four pole hook up for the box, only one light comes on and it flikers like a strobe light. Will the connector you referenced in the above question C35FR make the lights on the storage box work? PS The wiring on the storage box is correct.

Expert Reply:

The LED lights on the cargo carrier you are using must not be drawing enough power and causing the problem. Using an adapter such as # C35FR will simulate more load on the system allowing the LED lights to function normally.

I also recommend just checking the vehicle and trailer side connectors. They should be free of corrosion inside where the wires attach and outside on the pins.
