Question:
Im buying my first 5th wheel. Do I need a Brake Controller? I am buying a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Crewcab 6.6L Turbo Diesel. I am buying a 2005 Forest River Cardinal 29TS. When I plug the tow vehicle into the tow truck, does that assist the breaking or just power? You guys are awesome. I love your site. Thanks in advance.

You will need a brake controller to activate the brakes of the fifth wheel trailer you just bought.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
To install this controller you will also need the correct install harness part # 3015-P and to make a couple underhood connections. Check out the install video and help article I linked as well.
