Do Electric Trailer Brake Assemblies Make Noise When Activated

Question:
I just finished installing Dexter 23-468 and 469 brakes. When I tested them, I heard a noise coming from both brakes. At first I thought it was someones cell phone. Ive never had brakes play a tune for me before. Is this normal? Possibly to let you know that the brakes are engaging? By the way, I am pleased with the products I ordered and will be ordering another set of brakes in the next few days once I resolve the musical brake issue. I will write a review after the full installation is complete.

When trailer drum brakes are activated you should be able to hear a humming sound. I am not quite sure I would describe it as musical, but it sounds like they are functioning on your trailer.
Have you tried testing the brakes to see if they function properly? Most likely they will work fine. You should also note that these are self-adjusting brake assemblies so at first they may not seem to powerful, but with every brake application they should get slightly stronger until they are fully adjusted.
