Can self-Tapping Screws Be Used To Install E-Track In Toy Hauler With No Under Bed Access

Question:

Can I securely install the 8foot E-track rails on the floor inside my 5th Wheel toyhauler by using only self tapping screws. I cannot access the underside of the floor due to tanks and other obstructions. Thanks

If you are using self-tapping screws and attaching the part # E19148 5-foot rails to metal, you would be okay.

If you are installing this into wood I would recommend making sure you have the right size fasteners for the 1/4 inch mounting holes, and that you have at least 3/4 inch depth for the screws to be fastened to. You should also use as many mounting holes as possible to attain the maximum strength needed. Wood screws will work better than self-tapping metal screws unless your decking is metal.

If you need end caps to cover the edge of the E-track on the floor of your toy hauler, I recommend using part # ET8730.

To make it easier to secure cargo, I also recommend using the E-track D-Ring, part # E59143. This is a 2 inch x 6 inch strap that fits the E-track and has a D-ring attached for easier cargo management.
