Landing Gear on a 2008 Montana - which is the lead leg and which is the following leg looking from the back of the trailer.

The lead leg of a landing gear for a trailer is typically on the driver's side of the trailer, so it would be on the left side when looking at the trailer from the rear.
The easiest way to tell is to open the access door for the landing gear and see which gear has the motor or gear box attached at the top of the landing gear. check out the attached photo that shows what the lead leg would look like for a manual landing gear system like part # LG-183708.
For a landing gear system that has a motor the gear box would have an electric motor attached to it like part # LG-1.
