Should the Light of my Brake Controller Stay On After Vehicle is Turned Off

Question:

the red led stays on the manual control. does the unit power off? do I need to install power shut off? I ordered the plug in harness with this control 2005 E 250 Ford Van has factory tow package with 7 pin hitch connection thanks

The red light on the manual override of the Hopkins Agility will stay on all the time. But the amperage draw is so low that it would not drain your battery. A guy that works here has one installed on his truck and has had zero problems. He's had the controller installed for a few years at this point.

Yep, the light you see on the Flex-Control unit of your InSight is supposed to stay on at all times. You also don't need to worry about this draining the truck's battery as it only draws about 0.15 milliamps. At this draw it would take over 4 months of the truck sitting idle for it to cause any issues.
