Recommended D-Ring Anchors Fastened With Carriage Bolts For Securing a UTV to a Trailer

Im looking for a D-ring tie-down anchor to strap down my UTV to a trailer and will accept a number 8 carriage bolt. I think the #8 bolt requires a 3/8inch hole but not sure. Thank you.

A #8 carriage bolt is going to require only a 3/16" hole. Our smaller D-ring like the CargoSmart # 3486506 which is rated for 400lbs per D-ring has an opening for a 3/8" carriage bolt. Personally as this is needed to secure a UTV I recommend going with the stronger 1,667LB D-Ring # 3481765. This also secures with a 3/8" carriage bolt.

According to CargoSmart you want to use the largest grade 5 bolt that will fit the #3481765 mounting holes. The mounting hole measures .43". You should be able to find these at a local hardware store.
