Question:

Im working on a bid for a trailer receiver tube into a 3/4inch rear truck pintle plate on a 2 1/2 ton dump truck.. Receiver tube to be welded under pintle hitch.. Weve installed thousands of plates in the last 40 years and this is the first time anyone questioned the maximum capacity of a receiver tube. So exactly what is your max. tongue weight and towing capacity of your receiver tube.??

The Curt Combo Bar with 2-Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-11 does not carry a specific tongue weight or towing capacity because these ratings are entirely dependent on the specific installation.

The surfaces it is welded to and the manner of installation will be the determining factors in its actual capacity. I verified with Curt that this item carries no specific ratings since it is a general-purpose item.
