Can Dexter Breakaway Kit for Electric Over Hydraulic Actuators be Used with Regular Electric Brakes

Question:
Hi, I think I messed up! Im retrofitting electric brakes and hubs onto a 17foot Big Tex 70SP tandem flatbed trailer that has only idler axles. Thanks for the excellent DIY help videos - I decided to get all I needed from you guys! The manufacturer advised the axles are from Dexter so I purchased as many of their products as I could, including this breakaway unit that I just noticed is for electric over hydraulic systems. Do I need to return this one and get another one??

Not to worry because you can use breakaway kit # 34-285 with regular electric brakes too. I called Dexter and they confirmed this. So you are good to go you would just omit the electric over hydraulic actuator part of the diagram for installation.
