Display on Pilot Brake Controller Appears Upside Down
Published 04/06/2015 >
Question:
my controller worked fine a few months ago this weekend, the numbers appeared upside down, although the dotinch seems to be in the same position. I was afraid to keep adjusting it, and wound up pulling the trailer cautiously on my vehicle brakes 2012 Express 3500 Do I simply need to replace the unit ?? Im not positive of the model but think it is the 74378

The Pilot brake controllers have the ability to display the readout upside down or right side up. It is possible that you have somehow gone through the process accidentally. Here is how you would change the display.
To change the display orientation from right side up to upside down:
1. Connect white, red and blue wire to tow vehicle (this is already down on your vehicle).
2. While applying the brake pedal or manual slide knob, connect Black Wire (Battery) to the tow vehicle.
3. Display should now be upside down.
To change the display orientation from upside down to right side up:
1. Disconnect Black Wire (Battery) from tow vehicle.
2. Wait 5 seconds.
3. Reconnect Black Wire (Battery) DO NOT apply brake pedal or manual slide knob while connecting wire.
If using a plug-in wiring harness, apply brake pedal or manual slide knob while snapping connector
to tow vehicle to change the display orientation.
