Gooseneck trailer hitches tend to be a little more forward of the rear axle on a truck compared to 5th wheel hitches. But if you have the hitch placed directly over the center of the rear axle or a few inches forward then it is in the ideal location.
If you can tell me the year of your Ford F-450 and if it has a regular pickup bed or a flatbed I might be able to give you a more specific location.
