Replacement Anode Rod for Suburban SW10DE Water Heater

Not clear to me which Camco water heater anode rod is right for my Suburban SW10DE water heater.

The correct Camco anode rod for your Suburban SW10DE water heater is part # CAM11563. You can confirm beforehand simply by comparing dimensions. This aluminum rod measures 3/4-inch diameter and 9-1/2-inches long. Aluminum anodes will tend not to cause the odors in your hot water that can arise with magnesium anodes.
Many plumbers prefer magnesium anodes because they produce a stronger current making them more effective at keeping the water tank from corroding. Aluminum rods collect a buildup of corrosive materials that harden and make taking them out for inspection or replacement a challenge. Magnesium may react with bacteria causing a sulfurous smell. Aluminum rods don’t have this problem as often.
