Can the Armature Surface of an Electric Drum Brake Hub Be Turned Like the Brake Surface

Question:
John thank you for the tolerance on the brake shoe braking surface. can the magnet surface of the drum be resurfaced also. if so, how much? thank you

Expert Reply:
The part of a hub/drum assembly that makes contact with the electromagnet, the armature surface, cannot be machined. If the surface is deteriorated you'd do well to replace that hub.
The link provided will show you all hub/drum assemblies which you can sort using the filters on the page. Be sure to match your bearing set, bolt pattern and axle weight capacity when choosing a new hub.
