Having a propane or carbon monoxide gas leak in your RV is a scary situation that you don't want to even think about let alone experience. But this detector will give you peace of mind knowing that if there are dangerous levels of either, it'll quickly and accurately warn you and your family so you can get out of the RV and into fresh air.

Hard-to-Miss Visual and Audible Cues

When carbon monoxide is detected, the red LED will flash, and the horn will blare 4 times. When propane gas only or both propane and CO are detected, the red LED will come on, and the horn will be constant. And because the sensors are highly selective, they're designed to only sound the alarm for lethal gases, reducing the number of false alarms that occur in non-threatening scenarios.

It'll also alert you when the battery is low or when the detector has reached the end of its life and needs to be replaced, so you never have to be without protection.

Easy to Test and Silence

RV Safe Propane and CO Detector

To double check that the detector is operating normally, you can easily use the button on the front to test the propane sensor, carbon monoxide sensor, and battery voltage. You should test your detector every time it's taken out of storage and before it's taken out for each camping trip. This button also lets you silence the horn up to 5 minutes during non-life-threatening situations. So, you can turn off that annoying racket in the middle of the night while you're trying to hunt for a new battery.

Surface-Mount, Bolt-On Installation

RV Safe Detector Installed

The 2 included universal mounting brackets allow this detector to replace 90 percent of all OEM surface-mount and flush-mount detectors. This detector can replace most Atwood and Dometic branded detectors, as well as Safe-T-Alert 20 series, 25 series, 30 series, 35 series, 40 series, 45 series, and 65 series detectors.

Because propane gas is heavier than air, it'll settle near the floor, so this detector should be installed 4" to 18" from the floor to accurately detect the presence of gas. Also make sure that the detector is located in an area that isn't near a window or door, behind furniture or drapes, or in a closet. It also shouldn't be installed with 24" near a stove, oven, fridge, or furnace.

  • Recommended Replacement For An Atwood 33535E RV LP/CO2 Detector
The closest option we'll have to your Atwood 33535E LP/CO2 Detector is going to be the RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector # RS54FR that you were already looking at. It comes with two mounting plates to try and eat up some of your old cutout hole. The dimensions are as follows: The long plate measures 7-1/4" wide, 3-3/8" tall and hole to hole measurements of 6" (center of hole to center of hole) The short plate measures 5-3/4" wide, 4-1/2" tall and hole to hole measurements of...

  • Propane Detector Replacement For Older Atwood 33535E
Hey Justin, The propane detector by Atwood is no longer available, even with Dometic. The best option for a replacement I recommend is # RS54FR, this is a propane and carbon monoxide detector. If you are just looking for propane I recommend # RS44FR as a replacement. This may not be the exact size as your original detector, so you may have to use something to fill in the gaps of the mounting hole if needed. It comes with 2 mounting brackets for different size openings. The smaller being...

  • Replacement Propane Detector for a Protechtor Series 2001
Hey Anita, thanks for the information! The older Protechtor series 2001 propane detectors are not around anymore and the current replacement options are a little bit bigger. They are the RV Propane Gas Detector item # RS64FR in white and item # RS44FR in black. They measure 4-1/4" long x 2-5/8" wide x 1/2" thick so they're about an inch longer than your 3-5/8" long x 2-1/2" wide x 7/8" deep Protechtor series 2001. • Need Carbon Monoxide Detector To Replace Model 900-0140-LPM
Hello Brad, thanks for reaching out. We do have a carbon monoxide detector that can be used to replace your old unit. Here is what I recommend: - RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector - 12 Volt - 2 Wire - Black # RS54FR This detector is for CO2 and propane so it does need to be mounted between 4" and 18" off the floor. It comes with a small and large bracket which cover most applications. It is also available in white as part # RS34FR if you prefer that. It has a 5-year lifespan...

  • Availability of Replacement Carbon Monoxide and Propane Detector
Hey Doug, so the only carbon monoxide and propane detector we have at this time is the part # RS54FR which happens to have the dimensions of 4-1/4" long x 2-5/8" wide x 1/2" thick. The mounting holes can be set at 6 inch or 5-1/4 inch so hopefully what you have matches that.

  • Recommended Replacement For An Atwood Propane Gas Detector 31013
Hi Brenda, The Atwood 31013 unfortunately has been discontinued so you'd need to go with a completely new LP gas detector. We have a couple of surface mount style detectors that come with trim rings that will cover the old unit's cutout hole so you won't have any ugly gaps to try and fill. They can come with either just LP detection or with Carbon Monoxide detection as well; and can be purchased in either white or black. • What Propane Gas will Replace My CCI Controls Model No. 7719 LP Gas Leak Detector?
Hello Greg, The CCI Controls model number 7719 LP gas leak detector is an older model and it is recommended to replace it due to its age and potential for sensor failure. For a Propane gas detector replacement, I would go with the RV Propane Gas Detector - 12 Volt - 2 Wire - Black # RS44FR, or for white # RS64FR. If you needed one with a carbon monoxide detector as well, # RS54FR, or for white # RS34FR. These are the best options that we have for a replacement. It is an easy 2 wire...

  • Troubleshooting Atwood 31013 Propane/CO Detector Flashing Red
Hi Jt; was there a tone with the red flashing? There should be a sound along with the light if the actual alarm is going off. If you just turned on power it will flash red during the start up sequence. It may have even been that your dog bumping it caused a temporary power loss and it restarted itself. If it continues to blink red it is probably the end of its life and should be replaced with # RS34FR (white) or # RS54FR (black). Did you smell any propane? I'm sure you would smell it...
