LED Surface-Mount Technology

This light bar is built using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering LEDs directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability, and durability.


Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And when would vibration be more likely to occur than when you are driving?

due to spare tire cranck hole it wouldnt fit under the tailgate. i just put on the bottom of the tailgate. works fine now.

I needed to replace these pads as my old fasteners had worn out.The new ones restore a new fresh look but I had a little difficulty with one of the end fasteners on each pad continually popping back up but with a little "coaxing" took care of that.

The wire for fuse was pulled apart. Fixed it with quick soldering. Works great now. Package was smashed up pretty bad in shipment but solid tubing saved any damage to item. Was delayed in shipment due to Harvey.

The most likely cause in my opinion is the difference in power draw between the light bars bulbs and your vehicles originally. Most likely your truck has incandescent bulbs and the light bar has LED lights. The lower power draw from the LED lights almost mimics that of a burnt or bad bulb.
