Will Installation of Rampage LED Tailgate Light Bar # RA960134 Interfere with Spare Tire on 2012 Ram

Question:

Will the installation with the above light bar interfere with taking down the spare tire?On the Ram, as im sure your aware, there is a hole to fit the 3 piece lug wrench in to lower the tire. If it does interfere, do you carry a light bar that could be trimmed to fit around the opening to keep the light bar symetrical on both ends? Thank you. 2012 Ram 1500 4x4 SLT Quad Cab 4.7 Liter

The Rampage LED Tailgate Light Bar # RA960134 that you referenced is intended to install in the gap between the tailgate and bumper on your Ram 1500 SLT using included automotive-grade pressure-sensitive tape.

If your Ram is like the truck pictured in the linked photo (with the spare tire pulley access point on the right side of the bumper step) then this 60-inch light bar will block access to the spare. To be certain I checked the Ram truck belonging to an associate here at etrailer.com and the Rampage light strip will indeed block the access hole for the spare.

You may prefer to use two smaller lights in pace of this large one to avoid blocking the spare access point.

For example, we offer the CIPA 8-inch LED Light Strip, part # CM93281 which is a mere 1/16th-inch thick which makes it easier to fit and install in tight spaces. This can be wired into your Ram brake light circuit to activate when the brakes are applied.
