Today we're taking a look at a Replacement 12-Volt Variable Speed Fan Motor. This replaces the fan motor on your Maxxair MAXFAN RV roof vent. Again, it is a 12 volt DC variable speed motor. This works with a lot of different part numbers. To view all of those, you can check out this product's product page at etralier.com, and all the roof vent part numbers are listed for easy reference. I also have a print out, which I'll show you in a moment, for the video.
If you want to, you can pause the video and take a longer look at that sheet I'm gonna show you. But, it's a really nice construction. We have corrosion resistant finishing. It's gonna keep it safe from the elements. It's gonna keep it safe from rust and corrosion. We have a little sticker right here that shows us that our white wire is this side.
Black's on that side, and our wires are sealed right here as they feed into the motor housing. The wires run to this plug, so that way you don't have to hard wire anything. You can just simply plug it into the fans that this is- or excuse me, the roof vents that this motor's designed to work with. So, I'm gonna put that list up right here. You can see that.
We'll take a moment. These are all of the part numbers for the roof vents that this motor acts as a replacement motor for. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Replacement 12-Volt Variable Speed Fan Motor.
Stupid green light! Model 7500. Changed the board along with adding a voltage regulator. Still getting the blinking green light. Ordered the motor. Bench tested the old motor and was pulling 2.3 amps @ 12V. Bench tested new motor and pulling 0.230 amps @ 12V. Installed and works correctly now.
Customer service was excellent. I received my order quickly and the motor was clean and works perfectly.
I have two Maxxair fans in my RV and the motors on both stopped working. Purchased these as replacement and they worked just as good as the originals.
Great replacement for the fan motor. Had MaxxFan indicate the motor was an issue of not being able to run the fan higher than lowest speed. Changed the motor and all works fine now.
This fan motor was a like-for-like replacement. No issues. Easy installation.
Easy to install, and matched the OEM fan motor exactly. Works great Thank You etrailer.
Perfect plug and play replacement motor! The only way it could possibly been easier, is if there was a service technician in the box to install it! This was the first time that I’ve replaced the motor in my vent fan. Total time of uninstall and reinstall was fifteen minutes.
I received the motor in a short period of time. It was just as advertised as a replacement it works great. Thanks for your prompt service.
Easy replacement for OEM fan motor that went bad after 9 years.
Exactly what I needed for the vent fan in the rear bathroom. The old motor got progressively slower. Back in the day you used to be able to rebuild electric motors for less than $5.00. Now we are a replacement society for $100. It is a solid motor though and perfect for what I needed.
Motor fit right but it didn’t correct my problem, could be the circuit board
Perfect fit. Installed in 15 minutes. No more clicking at low speed means no more complaints from my wife!!
Quick, prompt delivery! It was an easy repair and part worked as advertised.
Solid delivery time. Motor fixed my pro blem.
Drop in replacement for maxxair vent fan
Worked great to replace the motor on the maxxair deluxe fan.
Perfect replacement for the motor in my 7500 MaxxAir fan. Easy installation, could have done it in a rainstorm and stayed dry. Very pleased to have my fan working again
Perfect OEM replacement.
Easy install and working great.
Great service!
Part was an exact match.
I am now on my third Maxxair fan motor. Every motor develops an annoying squeak after about six months. The motor costs over half of the entire Maxxfan unit. This has become a very expensive fan! I tried to fix the squeak on the first motor following videos. Total nightmare. Squeak came right back. Bought second motor. Same thing. Did not attempt to repair. Just dealt with annoying squeak. Never went away. Just installed the third motor and sounds great. Just nervously awaiting the cycle to begin again. You need to maintain the motor. The brushes develop build up. No way to manually clean. It is a sealed unit. Bad design. Expensive. Not happy.

I know this sounds counterproductive but MaxxAir does recommend to run a new fan on high for 24 hours to break in the bearings. This is a common issue this trick has worked for a lot of owners.
Exactly what I ordered, arrived on time. Will use again.
This is my third replacement motor. They work fine for a couple months and then they start the inevitable squeak. That squeak will increase over time, and eventually become unbearable and require replacement. I feel that a lot of these five star reviews come from people that don’t live in their van full-time. If you live in your van full-time, you’ll know what I’m talking about. You’ve probably replaced a few yourself.

To be honest we have had other reviews talking about the squeak that happens with the motor. We reached out to Maxxair and a possible solution is to run the new motor on high for 24 hours to break in the bearings. It has worked for other to diminish the squeaking.
I was very happy, we had paid over $300 for the exaust fan and it was a major ordeal replacing it, and we just redid our rubber roof and didnt want to tear it up. We were glad to be able to find a motor compatible with our 10 speed bathroom fan
