Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a quick look at the replacement Maxxair roof vent manual lift operator. This is going to fit several different models of the Maxxair roof vents including some deluxe and standard models. It does have the list of part numbers that this fits in the description on our product page here at etrailer.com, so definitely check that out.But basically, this is going to allow our handle in our enclosed trailer or an RV to turn that lifting mechanism to lift up our vent. That way we can let in some air, get some circulation going and keep everything nice and cool, let out the hot air, let in the good cold air and vice versa. If your vent or fan is cracked or damaged at all and you've got some water leakage, it's probably best to just replace the entire unit.
But if everything's working properly, and this is really the only issue is that it's just not lifting or closing anymore, this is going to be a much less expensive option as far as keeping everything working and instead of having to replace your entire unit, you can just replace this small mechanism to get everything working again.But if anything's damaged like your top cover's cracked, you're starting to get some leakage in there, you probably will want to just replace that whole vent unit because it's important to keep out any kind of water damage from your trailer. You don't want to get anything else inside your enclosed trailer dirty or anything like that or damaged. We have a lot of options available here at etrailer.com, if you want to pick one up. But that aside, if everything else is working just fine, this is definitely going to be an easy way to replace that and get you back out on the road, enjoying the cool air.It is an aluminum construction. It comes with that mounting hardware.
We'll have the two bolts and nuts that capture inside there to mount this in place. And then it'll also have the two holes to attach it into our system. The distance between those two at the bottom is about two and five-eights of an inch, center-on-center. The length of each of those hexagonal sides is about a quarter of an inch for each of those hexes. And then the length coming off here is about one and three-eights of an inch.
The instructions do have a list again, of what this is going to fit and then instructions for the various different models and how to get those taken out and replaced, so it makes it a little easier to do your install without having to do any guesswork.But that's going to do it for our look at the replacement Maxxair roof vent manual lift operator.
Perfect replacement for the manual lift gear for our trailer's MaxxAir fan vent. Installation was straightforward and without incident. Saved tons of $$$ not having to replace the whole fan.

The part gave me a bit of a problem, no matter how many times i tried to install it, so the vent opens all the way, i was unable to. so now i have a vent that only opens 30% ..

What is the model number of your vent Lynn? I would like to dig a little deeper so see why you are only able to open 30%...
This is perfect! We thought when or vent lift broke, we would have to buy a whole new fan. This little part saved us so much time and money. Taking off the fan lid was relatively easy. Now, we can open and close the lid easily.
Excellent service. Part arrived on time and installation went smooth.
The part was perfect and communication excellent. I felt the cost of the part and the two day shipping was excessive but otherwise everything went flawlessly. Installed the part shortly after receiving it and everything functions properly.
Have not even received the item but giving e-trailer a huge fail on moving their products.
Six days after "item packed and shipping label created", Post office still not in possession of package. If it's the shippers fault, you need to fix it.
The product is the product. etrailer carries items that others don't. The fact that it took 2 1/2 weeks for delivery is beyond ridiculous. Of course. etrailer blames the USPS and me for opting for economy shipping. Not happy in PA.

etrailer was super easy to access and order the replacement part for my broken (again) Maxxfan. They shipped the part immediately and delivery was quicker than expected, so quick I was able to make the repair before up coming camping trip! This is my first time using etrailer, they were great, I highly recommend. This is my 3rd time replacing this part, I am very dissatisfied with Maxxfan!

It’s still going strong
Unit came with instructions that made installation very easy.
Replacement part has held up since I installed it two years ago. So far I've had no problems.
Fit perfect and Joy was very helpful .
Perfect fit. Just follow the alignment instructions. Drop in 4 screws,couple bushing easy.

This worked perfectly as a replacement lift operator mechanism for my MaxxAir 4401k Maxxfan ventfan with manual open and close knob in my 2017 Flagstaff Micro-Lite.
One day the knob on my vent fan would just keep spinning without opening the vent cover. This part was what was needed to fix the issue. When I went to replace this part I found that my original lift operator was split into two pieces. Not sure how that can happen when all it is lifting is a plastic vent fan cover that weighs next to nothing, but apparently this is a common problem after searching on-line.
In order to install the lift operator it was a combination of working inside the trailer and from up on top of the roof. I was hoping to be able to do it all from inside, but it seemed much easier to do most of the work from up top.
The part came with instructions that were good, but it took me a few tries to get the right combination of where the knob on the lift operator needed to be set initially and how to position the existing lift bar that connects to the vent cover after replacing the lift operator mechanism. The instructions did indicate what position the lift operator needed to be in, but that didn't seem to work for me.
It took me about an hour from start to finish to install, but now that I have done it once I could probably do it in a few minutes.
I ordered this product and as always, etrailer was very quick to get it delivered! I haven’t installed it yet, to be able to talk about the workmanship of the part. But they were very quick getting me the part!

It’s been a year and this is still working just like day 1. No more issues. It was fairly easy to install also, nice plus.

The parts got here on time and looks like what I need. They work and I will install them.
The new operator seems well made. However, the two halves are riveted together on our original 12-year-old operator. The halves are held together with screws and nuts on the new one. I had to drill holes in the bracket in order to accommodate the screw heads. This task added quite a bit of time and effort to the job.
