Plug-and-play custom harness gets turn and brake signals on your towed car with no hardwiring or splicing, and no effect on your warranty. The built-in diodes protect your car from electrical feedback.

A combined lighting system, or 2-wire system, uses the same light bulb to signal both braking and turning. (In other words, the car signals a turn by flashing the brake light.)
A separate lighting system, or 3-wire system, has the brake signal and the turn signal light up independently of each other. Typically, the turn signal is amber.
To keep the separate lighting system on your car functioning properly while you're flat towing, add a wiring converter (118158 - sold separately) and 2 additional diodes.
If the engine is off and your car's brake lights illuminate when you press the brake pedal, you need to install a brake light relay (RM-88400 - sold separately) with this kit. Without a relay, your car's brake signal will override the turn signal sent by the RV when you are slowing down to make a turn, creating a potentially dangerous situation. Other drivers will see that you're slowing down, but not that you're making a turn. With a brake light relay, you can signal both and travel safely.

I recently purchased a Blue Ox tow bar, towed vehicle brake system and three wiring harnesses for towing my Jeep Liberty with our motorhome. etrailer.com was my first choice for the purchase for these items worth almost two thousand dollars. The Hopkins kit worked perfectly, no surprises or modifications needed. Made electrical hook up to my motorhome seamless, 2003 National RV Seabreeze and 2011 Jeep Liberty. I highly recommend this wiring kit for the Jeep Liberty.
The kit was a Hopkins kit. These are all generally well make with good instructions. What makes the difference is where you purchase it from. Etrailer and Nicky K is who gets the five stars. These folks could not be easier to deal with. They stay in touch from the moment of the sale until after the sale and then even ask you how the install went. In todays online market I'm not sure how etrailer has put together the team and website that they have but they have done a great job of it. I purchased this harness for our 2012 Jeep Liberty so we could tow it behind our motorhome using the jeeps own tail lights for brake and turn signals. The harness works perfect and was a easy plug and play install with the exception of having to install one self-tapping screw for the ground (included). It also comes with a plastic bracket to in install the 4 flat connector on the front of the jeep which also works well! My only dislike is the wires of the harness are not incased in any form of wire loom to protect them from the elements or rubbing on other parts of the jeep which could easily damage the wires so I purchased some 3/8 and 1/2" wire loom and installed it my self but other than that it seems to be a great harness!

Pretty well, but the adhesive backing for, rectifier block, Ithink its called, didnt hold too well.

Product was working great when I sold the vehicle. This wiring harness was easy install, and I would highly recommend it. I would defiantly purchase again. E-Trailer has always been good to work with.
