Question:
I am looking to flat tow a 2012 Jeep Liberty 4x4 Limited Jet edition. We have Class A Diesel pusher motorhome with a 10,000 lb tow capacity. I saw a response from one of your experts listing the below parts as required to tow a 2012 Jeep Liberty in response to another question. Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms - BX1131 Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2inch Hitch - 6,500 lbs - BX7380 Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - HM56204 Roadmaster 68inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000 lbs - RM-643 Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional - RM-9400 Is this still the best set up to tow a 2012 Jeep Liberty? Is there a different or newer set up that is better? Is there a package deal available that will include everything needed, or must the parts be ordered individually? Thank you.

You will need to purchase the parts separately there isn't one giant flat towing kit that can be purchased. There are just way too many options and combinations. We all tend to recommend different products so my choice in parts will be different but not necessarily better. The question you looked at is a few years old but they stopped making new parts for 2012 Liberty's awhile ago.
To flat tow your 2012 Jeep Liberty you will need the following parts:
Tow Bar and Safety Chains - etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plates item # e44ZR
Base Plate Kit - Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms item # 521433-1 will fit Limited Models not equipped with rock guards, skid plates, or brush guards. Or item # 521434-1 which fits Limited Models with rock guards or skid plates, but not brush guards.
Wiring Harness - Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles item # HM56204
Supplemental Braking System - Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System item # HM39524
High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.
