Video Transcript for Breaking Down the Curt Dual Ball Attachment for Weight Distribution Shanks

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Curt dual ball attachment for your weight distribution shanks. Now this dual ball attachment will transform your weight distribution shank into an adjustable hitch. Now the shank, we do sell separately on the website. And just to show you what we're talking about, I'm gonna pop up an insert and there's the Curt weight distribution shank, and you can see it has the adjustable holes on it. So this attachment will attach to that and give you two hitch balls to be able to tow with.

It also will fit standard weight distribution shanks if the holes are spaced two and a half inches on center. This part will include everything shown here on the table. The dual ball attachment, two three-quarter inch pins, a vibration resistant clip, and a nice set of instructions that'll show how this operates. This will offer two different size hitch balls to let you tow trailers with different coupler sizes. The smaller ball is a two inch diameter, the larger ball is a two and five 16ths inch diameter.

And to switch the balls on the shank, it's pretty easy. You just simply remove these two pins, rotate the balls with size you need, and then reinsert the pins and then secure the pins with the included vibration resistant clip. It is an anti-rattle design, helps reduce towing noise. This unique clip design will install easily over both pins and it is vibration resistant. Just to show you what we're talking about when you slide your pin through when you get it onto your shank, slide the pins through the hole in through the shank.

And then once you get it on this side, what you'll do the way you attach this is you'll just hook this top one onto the top pin just like this. And then once that's all the way on what you'll do is swing this one down and line it up and then just push it on. And just like that, it'll hold those pins from rattling, keep the pins in place, pretty simple to do. And then to remove it, all you have to do is just pop off this clip brush like here, and then push it off there, and you're ready to remove it if you need to switch it around. Now this has a durable carbide powder coat finish on it.

The balls themselves are a chrome plated construction. Application, again, this will fit weight distribution shanks with holes that are spaced two and a half inches on center. Gross towing weight capacity, when you use this with a two inch weight distribution shank and then you use the two inch ball, it'll give you a 10,000 pound capacity. If you use it with the two inch shank and then use the two and five 16ths ball, it'll get you a 15,000 pound weight capacity.
