This HD Curt hitch is definitely heavy duty, probably didn’t need a hitch this magnitude. I am not afraid to pull any kind of trailer behind my 2500HD Duramax Chevy.
Replaced the OEM hitch with this heavy duty hitch on my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Duramax.
Fit & finish were top notch as was the hardware.
Installation was relatively easy using a motorcycle jack, a 2 x 10 & a couple of gallon paint cans. Hoisted it into position and bolted it into place using the suppled hardware & two of the OEM GM bolts that were saved after removing the OEM 7,500 lb hitch.
Instructions were clear for this relatively simple task.
With a 16,000 lb rating (17,000 with a WD setup) & a 2400 lb tongue weight limit this hitch is more than my truck is rated for (12,000 lbs) & that provides peace of mind while towing.

Very Nice Product. Far superior than stock. Inspect those GMT800 series trucks gents for rust. Junior Boy at Mulch Depot front loaded my 14GVW equipment trailer. 22 year old OE hitch was no match. Yikes!

The factory hardware also worked with exception of the the 2 with existing captured nuts those 2 bolts would need to be 1 1/2 inch longer I would also like to see the 7 way bracket be part of the assembly so I wouldn’t have to drill into the new hitch assembly.
GM also uses 2 additional bolts to support bumper those would be nice to have as part or the hitch since this is a direct replacement bolt on.
Built like it was made to last a long - long time! Excellent quality! Super easy install! My factory receiver just failed on my 2003 Chevy 2500 Duramax (no complaints here in the salt belt...) - and I wanted to replace it with something tough and worry free... Found it! This receiver is built like a tank! Thank you for carrying a fine product! We will do business again. : )

This Curt hitch is a great buy, E Trailer was great to deal with and fast delivery, going to use them for all my truck/ trailer needs.
I installed this hitch on my 2009 Cadillac Escalade EXT truck! Yes fit perfectly like stock! Had to drill a couple of holes. Lol. The weight difference was a joke compared to the stock crap the factory had on the truck.

Product is great after 1 year no ptoblems !!!
Hitch looks and feel great, install instructions are good. Did not come with bolt for rear threaded holes, instructions want you to use factory bolt which in my case were not there. The new hitch comes within about 2mm of the aftermarket 4” exhaust and will contact over bumps. Just something to keep in mind on the diesel trucks with larger than factory exhaust.
After replacing all the cross members on my 2008 silverado, I wanted something really strong to tie it all together. This class 5 hitch is really substantial!
Product was excellent, packaging was fair. All the hardware broke free from its packaging and was rattling around loose in the bottom of the box. Unfortunately for me, one of the carriage bolt backer plates was no longer in the box. I was under a time crunch so I had to fabricate a backer plate rather than contacting trailer and waiting for a replacement. Perhaps if they would tape the box corners it would prevent small parts from working their way out of the box during shipping.
This is a great replacement for the lighter duty factory hitch on my Dmax. I tow a 8000lb bumper pull travel trailer with no worries!
Perfect fit for my 2005 2500 Silverado. The factory receiver only had 7500# capacity so I figured an upgrade to a class V was a good idea. I cut the plug bracket off of the old receiver and welded it to a piece of flat stock for easy mounting to the bumper.

Thanks for your business and your review, Mike! Just a quick note - while aftermarket hitches may have a higher capacity, the maximum capacity of a towing setup is limited to the capacity of the lowest-rated component.

This hitch fit my 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 perfectly. The receiver slot is about 2.5 inches higher than the factor receiver that it replaced, which you may need to consider if you have a weight distribution hitch with bars that ride on a bracket on the trailer tongue instead of chains -you will need to reset those kinds of hitches for the new height. This is a very well-made hitch and was easy to install.
Super simple install, took minimal tools and time. Very clean fit.
Easy install and incredibly beefy and stout. I pull my flatbed and jeep wrangler unlimited to trails. Yesterday I just got home from towing to Hurricane, Utah and back. Rough roads big grades, no problems from any component of my trailer system.
No comparison to the stock hitch. Very sturdy with no flex. One less worry when towing a heavy trailer. A true bolt on hitch. Great price and fast shipping. Thanks etrailer.

Great product, seems very well built. Install is incredibly easy, especially if you remove the spare tire as suggested. Truck is a 2007 2500 HD Classic Body CCSB.
Only side note is that there is less clearance between the hitch and exhaust, which could potentially be trouble if you are running an aftermarket 5” system (see photo). It still worked for me and overall I am very satisfied with the purchase.
Fits great on my quad cab (4 full doors with short box) 2004 silverado 2500hd 4x4 with the exception of the middle hole not located in the correct spot and will need to get drilled out on the frame (see pics for center hole). A blueprint from center of hole to center of hole would be very helpful for anyone else trying to figure out if this and others will work for their application. Mine back to front was 0 at first hole, then 6 1/2 inches then 14 1/2 inches (yes, the big hole is used). Hitch comes with middle hole being at 7 1/4 inches. Side to side on mine was 39 1/4 inches center to center and the hitch was the same. Hoping this helps others out. Great packaging and fast shipping. Customer service was top notch! Will definitely continue to order thru these folks. Very heavy duty hitch! Highly recommend!
Very well built hitch. Somewhat of an easy install. Had to ream out one of the holes a little bit to get one of the blots in.
