I had a terrible car accident for a total loss of my car and I was never was able to install the trailer hitch receiver. That said, it came exactly as described and even though I did t install it, their customer service is the best. They allow me to return it without any problems and as soon as the insurance pays off the totalled car, I will by my next hitch receiver in heart beat.

Thank you etrailer Support Staff

  • Comparing Ground Clearance Between Draw-Tite 75218 and Curt C13238 On 2015 Audi Q3
We have not had a chance to install the Draw-Tite # 75218 on a 2015 Audi Q3 yet so I do not have the exact ground clearance measurements, but based on the two manufacturer provided installed photos I believe you are correct that it will give more ground clearance than the Curt # C13238. If you are planning on towing with your Q3 you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # 119250KIT, and a hitch ball, ball mount, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount...

  • Do I have To Cut The Fascia When Installing A Hitch On 2015 Audi Q3
All of the hitches available for the 2015 Audi Q3 are concealed cross tube hitch designs so they all require fascia trimming. Both Class III hitches for your Audi Curt part # C13238 and Draw-Tite part # 75218 require a 3-1/2" square cut into the fascia so that the receiver portion of the hitch can stick through. I recommend the Draw-Tite part # 75218 because the installation instructions are better for this hitch. The Class II hitch available for the Audi Curt part # C12148 requires a...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Towing Setup for 2018 Audi Q3
We don't have a video of the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75218 on your 2018 Audi Q3. The biggest thing to note is the installation requires the permanent removal of the bumper beam and the hitch will replace that bumper beam for support and safety. It will require trimming your lower fascia. I've attached a photo and the installation details to assist. If you don't wish to replace your bumper beam, then I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class...

  • Clearance Solution For Trailer Hitch On A 2015 Audi Q3 That Sits Too Low
There unfortunately isn't a trailer hitch without a built in drop available for the 2015 Audi Q3 so you're only option for raising the height of the bike rack would be to use a hitch adapter like the Roadmaster High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars # RM-048-4. This adapter would give you a 4" rise to provide more ground clearance for your bike rack. Note: Hitch adapters do reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50%, so your Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13238 would have a maximum...

  • Draw-Tite Class III Hitch 75218 Installation on 2016 Audi Q3 for Using Hitch Bike Rack
All aftermarket hitches made for your 2016 Audi Q3 are shown on the linked page. These options include both 1-1/4-inch Class II and also 2-inch Class III type hitches. Since both install in the same manner I recommend one of the 2-inch models, either Curt # C13238 or Draw-Tite # 75218, since these will offer broader compatibility with the available bike racks and also a higher weight capacity. Both of these 2-inch hitches will require some trimming of the rear fascia but neither required...

  • 2016 Audi Q3 Trailer Hitch Recommendation for Carrying Motorcycle Carrier
For a trailer hitch that is confirmed as a fit for your 2016 Audi Q3 that would have enough tongue weight capacity for a motorcycle carrier we have the Curt hitch part # C13238 which is a confirmed fit and has a tongue weight capacity of 525 lbs. The etrailer part # e98873 would be a carrier that we offer that would easily carry a 300 lb bike.

  • Recommended Hitch for 2016 Audi Q3 to Carry Thule Easy Fold Bike Rack
I recommend using the Curt # C13238 which will give you a 2" receiver capable of carrying your Thule Easy Fold # TH903202. Curt hitches have a nice, durable powder coating so this hitch will stand up better to nicks and scratches than some other hitches so it's a great option that won't break the bank. I've linked a review and installation video of this hitch for you to check out, as well.

I have a few options for you, but the Thule Velo Vise 589 you have can only be installed onto factory aero crossbars by using the Thule Ride On Adapter 532 which has been discontinued for quite a few years now. If you can find two of the then you can install them onto the crossbars on your 2018 Audi Q3, then install the bike rack on those. The bumper of your 2018 Audi Q3 does not have to be removed at any point in order to install the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13238. All that is required is loosening the fasteners at the bottom of the bumper cover to allow for installation of the hitch. • Will the Draw-Tite Hitch for 2017 Audi Q3 Work With Threaded Hitch Bolt.
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75218 is a great option for a 2017 Audi Q3. I do see a few reviews of others using this hitch for bike racks without reporting issue of the safety chain loops interfering with the hitch pin. • Trailer Hitch for 2018 Audi Q3 that Doesn't Require Hitch Adapter
If you use a hitch adapter to change hitch size from 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch the result is that the hitch loses 50 percent of it's tongue weight capacity due to added leverage and movement. Instead the better option would be to go with a 2 inch hitch that fits your 2018 Audi Q3 like the part # C13238 which would not require an adapter.

As noted from Curt all non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth - should be supported with stabilizing straps like part # 18050. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty. If you have the tow package on your Q3 and need trailer wiring you can use part # HM40975.
