Question:

Hello, I am looking at the Curt Class 2 for my 2016 Q3 Quattro prestige edition. It looks like there is an OEM version now but its very expensive and I only want this for a bike rack and not true towing. My main concern is will the Curt look similar and be placed like the OEM version. I just want it to look right and similar to the OEM if possible. I dont need all of the things that come with the OEM version. Please give me your advice. Thanks!

All aftermarket hitches made for your 2016 Audi Q3 are shown on the linked page. These options include both 1-1/4-inch Class II and also 2-inch Class III type hitches. Since both install in the same manner I recommend one of the 2-inch models, either Curt # C13238 or Draw-Tite # 75218, since these will offer broader compatibility with the available bike racks and also a higher weight capacity.

Both of these 2-inch hitches will require some trimming of the rear fascia but neither required drilling. But since you want to use the hitch specifically for a bike rack I suggest the Draw-Tite # 75218 since it does NOT require you to use a support strap # 18050 as the Curt hitch does.

One of our customers submitted a photo of their completed install and I linked this to show you the clean appearance, which is quite close to the OEM install.
