etrailer was the only place I could find a custom fit hitch receiver for my 2019 Ford Fusion. The installation was much easier than I thought it would be with no drilling, cutting, or welding and the video on their website clearly showed each step. I'm a 64 year old woman and I had no problems installing it by myself. I can't wait to carry my ebikes with my car!
I have not installed the hitch yet, but I did check for condition, and all the parts seem to be there. My only complaint is the condition of the packaging. I know that your company is not responsible for the delivery, so this is just my letting you know that the box arrived fairly broken up. Perhaps forward my concern in how it was handled. But as for why I purchased this, I do a lot of camping and needed a cargo carrier, and this hitch should work great in allowing me to make more room inside my car for passengers and put more items in the carrier. After I install this hitch and can confirm that it is undamaged, I will add the 5th star if allowed. Again, I do not hold you responsible for the damage to the package.
As a 73 year young man, had very few issues with the installation. Went on my 2018 Fusion with only having to slightly enlarge the two holes so the bolts could be fed thru for the support brackets. I can now cart around my wife's wheelchair on the cargo carrier on a class 3 hitch.
Absolutely the best product for my purpose. The heavier construction is exactly what I was looking for to accept accessories like a bicycle hitch, external storage rack and a electric bicycle carrier.
By following the Ford manufactures and etrailers recommendations, I decided to pass on installing the wiring harness at this time to prevent from using the car to tow trailers.
Hitch is well designed and installed without issues other than some missing hardware etrailer took care of. etrailer does a good job informing the customer with dimensions, but I can't over-emphasize how low the hitch is. I have to come in my driveway at an angle not to scrape at bottom of my driveway. When you connect something to the hitch, because of length and weight, the issue magnifies. Etrailer did not have a 6" rise with tongue weight capacity I desired, but was able to find one by Towever that works well. Be very careful to look at the dimensions etrailer provides for this hitch before buying a rise. The bumper sticks out further that the hitch, so the rise needs some extension first. If using a rise, I believe etrailer will tell you the rise inherently halves the tongue weight of the hitch. If so, this will still work for my dirt bike carrier, but not a full size motorcycle. This hitch is a great option for a cargo carrier which I will be using for vacations, 1 dirt bike, hitch mount multi-bicycle rack, or towing a small trailer. I'm not sure if any of these would work practically without a rise so I'd consider that in your budget planning.

I used a small dental type hook to assist in getting the fish wire out of the holes in the frame. I also added a little insurance policy by purchasing 4 cotter clevis pins which I spread open a little (see pictures) and clipped onto the bolts once I fished them through the frame. By doing this I minimized the risk of knocking a bolt back into the frame.
I did the installation by myself by using a support to hold one side of the hitch while I fastened a nut on the rear bolt. After doing the other side it was easy to lift into place and fasten the rest of the hardware.
Customer service was awesome and helped me correct a shipping issue. I do recommend inventorying all parts before beginning. I was missing the 4 internal tooth lock washers for the 1/2” bolts but was able to get them from the local hardware store.
Solid hitch. Fits 2017 Ford Fusion, as described. Installation was a breeze, considering I was just swapping my other 1 1/4in hitch for this one. They used the same screws, so it was really just unscrewing one hitch, and screwing in the new hitch. The side screws went in easily enough; screwing down the top bolt was the only PITA I encountered because of the limited space and no specialized tools.
The only bad thing to say was the shipping process. The box, as others have noted, came in pretty beat up. Luckily, the hitch only suffered a few scratches (pretty inconsequential) and all hardware was still there.
The hitch construction looks good, the shipping is horrible! This is my second hitch from etrailer and the boxes do not hold up to the shipping. On both hitches one mounting portion came through and out of the ends of the box and underside of the hitch is through the bottom of the box. Powdercoating is chipped off from ground contact and I need to repowdercoat the hitch to look correct and not rust. Much better package procedure is needed.

Looks great, sleek, like it was original. I had it installed by muffler& hitch company Ihave known for 15 years. When they opened it they said “too many nuts & bolts”. (Safer? I thought)
Great hitch for a Kuat bike rack system, holding four bikes on a Ford Fusion. I highly recommend.

Perfect! Very happy with the product, after 1 year.
The hardware is awful, the bolt keeps spining inside the frame rail and there in now way to hold in place to tighten the nut. So now i am stuck with a loose hitch receiver on my car. Terrible product for such a high price!

Fast shipping, well made! I went for the one with 525 lbs tongue weight which is a little pricy but I will also be using a extension riser which cuts the tongue weight in half I’m told. I watched and followed the video step by step and it was pretty easy. Thanks for the videos, they make all the difference.

It has been a year and the hitch is great. We have pulled a very small trailer and also used a bike rack with two 80 lbs electric bikes. Excellent product.
Great product. Heavy duty and well built. 5 stars for a quality product. 0 stars for etrailer. Here's why: etrailer was an absolute disaster to work with. The shipping box looked like it had been dragged through a field when it arrived at my doorsteps. No actual packing protection on the hitch. I had a cabin air filter with the order and it was just loosely thrown in.. totally destroyed by the hitch. The day I earmarked to do the install, of course there was no hardware kit inside the 2" hitch housing like there was supposed to be. Day was shot. I called etrailer, waited on hold forever, got a hold of a rep, who said he'll rush deliver a new hardware kit. Awesome... 2 weeks go by and many phone calls and holding, I finally got the hardware kit... or so I thought. The basic install went really well until it came time to put on the support brackets, which were listed in the instructions, but were not in the actual kit. Awesome. I call etrailer and they assure me they will get the brackets out to me. Great. Another week goes by and I crawl under the car to finish up. The bolts that fish through the frame have a very specific backing plate, which is no where to be found. I finally just call Torklift directly, because etrailer is such a nightmare to get through with their long hold times. Torklift sends out the back plates so I can finally finish the install.
So it took a little over 4 weeks from start to finish for the install. I understand things happen during shipping, but the hold times, lack of follow up, and just the fact that etrailer had a "you're out of luck" attitude, will really make me think twice about buying something from etrailer again.
Installation instructions were easy to follow so no problem doing it myself with little experience. Glad to have the two inch receiver so I can use my bike rack without an adapter. Also, the two inch limits rotational play once the rack is loaded.
It took me 2 hours or so by myself taking my time. Jacked up the uses jack stands to be safe. Removed the panel, ran the coil wire, pulled bolts as told put up receiver, added the two brackets. Tighten main bolts, tighten bracket bolts. Done, cleaned up toke out jack stands and lowered the car. It wasn’t too bad and I did it by myself. I think you have a great product. Thanks Francis

Im still loving it! I used it to carry my ebikes on a week-long trip and it worked great. I also bought a hitch adapter with a 6 rise so I can use my cargo carrier. My car is low to the ground and the cargo carrier doesnt have a built-in rise like my ebike carrier.
