Expert Answers about MB Sturgis

  • Replacement Propane Trunk Hose from Regulator to Trailer
  • It's hard to tell from the pictures what size fittings are being used but what you need is a trunk hose from your regulator to the trailer. Once you know the size of each fitting it shouldn't be difficult to find a hose. It looks to me likes it's probably a 3/8 inch for both of them which means you can use part # 100040-48-MBS for a 4 foot, part # 100040-72-MBS for a 6 foot, or part # 100040-144-MBS for a 12 foot. If it turns out the female end (regulator side) is 1/2 inch and the...

  • Propane Hose Replacements for Regulator
  • We do have hoses which may work for you. The MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100833-24 is a type 1 cylinder connection with a 1/4" male inverted flare. This is a 2 foot hose, though we also have a 15" hose # 100833-15 and 1 foot hose # 100575-12-MBS. These hoses are also available with back check, the 20" # 100473-20-MBS, 15" # 100473-15-MBS and 12" # 100473-12. I've added links to review videos of each of these products for you to take a look at.

  • Replacement Propane Pigtails for Lance Camper Regulator
  • The MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Type 1 x 1/4" Male Inverted Flare - 1' # 100575-12-MBS is the standard pigtail for your Lance Camper. It will connect to your propane tank and then to your regulator. I recommend the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator for Dual Propane Tanks # CAM59005 to connect your two pigtails. This features a gauge indicator to warn you that the tank pressure is decreasing and you will need to refill your propane tanks so you don't run out. These...

  • Can the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100575-20-MBS be Connected Directly to Regulator
  • Typically a regulator will have a 1/4" Female NPT inlet, like what the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 108220 has. For the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100575-20-MBS to connect to your regulator you will need the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Fitting # 402258-MBS. If you already have the gold adapter fitting with the Female Inverted Flare fitting then the adapter is not needed.

  • For the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting w/ Hose for POL Valve - 2 Model 250 Quick Disconnect Ports # 103538-MBS you will put this between the tank and the motorhome's in line regulator. Then you will need a single stage regulator like # CAM59013 which will thread onto the 3/8 inch male pipe of your grill and then you will need an adapter like # 204129-MBS to thread into the inlet of the regulator and provide you a female fitting for the male POL that is integrated on the T-fitting. • Effect of Adding Propane Hose Extension to Thor RV Propane Hookup
  • Adding propane hose length to your outdoor RV cooking setup can cause you to lose substantial propane pressure. It really comes down to the propane level in the tank(s) and whether that is enough to overcome the additional resistance of a doubled hose length. Thor supplies a 10-foot hose as this will be short enough to deliver adequate pressure with most propane accessories. The extra 10-feet will probably not be an issue with the tanks completely full but at 1/2 capacity the tanks on...

  • Propane Hose Adapter to Go From Female Quick Disconnect to Blackstone Griddle
  • Does the Blackstone Griddle use the throw-away propane bottle fitting? If so then hose # 100304-120-MBS would not be the one you would use. If the griddle takes a 3/8 inch female fitting then it will work. If the griddle does directly take the disposable propane bottles then you would instead use hose # 100476-120-MBS.

  • Comparing High and Low Pressure Propane Hoses and Thermoplastic Versus Rubber
  • Most RV propane systems use a low pressure regulator because the appliances are low pressure. You can check the information stamped into your regulator to determine if it is high or low pressure or offers both. High pressure regulators are usually 30 psi, such as # 108072. Hoses for high pressure systems are built to handle the higher pressure. Many hoses do not specify if they are high or low pressure and can generally be used for either system. The fittings on each type may have different...

  • Available Propane Adapter Hoses
  • If your house propane tank is a standard 20-lb tank you will not need two regulators. This is already a low-pressure system so one regulator will suffice. Using two will not be an issue when the tank is full and in warmer weather, but as the tank empties and as temperatures drop so too will the pressure available from the tank. To illustrate, a 20-lb tank with 4.7 gallons of LP gas inside will put out 20-lbs of pressure when the temperature is 10-degrees Fahrenheit but this same tank...

  • Dual Propane LP Tank Setup 100 Lb for RV or Travel Trailer
  • Yes, the # 100019-24 pigtail can be used to connect your dual-cylinder 100 lb propane setup to the regulator on your RV. Since this hose does not have a back-check to contain a gas leak, you will need the # 204120-MBS fitting that includes a back-check. Without the back-check, your setup would not be RVIA (Recreation Vehicle Industry Association) compliant. You mentioned that you'd like to connect to a T first, before connecting to the regulator. • Recommended Propane Regulator and 8 to 10 Foot Hose to Supply a Food Trailer
  • To supply your food trailer from your 100 pound tank you're going to need a pigtail, like part # 100473-20-MBS, that goes from the tank to a regulator. The regulator needs to be a 2-stage regulator like part # 108220. Then from the regulator use part # 100040-144-MBS. It's 12 feet long so more than what you need but we don't have an 8 to 10 foot hose that has a 3/8 male to connect to a regulator with a 3/8 female flare on the other end. The next shortest option we carry is 6 feet...
