I have a 34 foot motorhome, Forest River Georgetown, and I was told the proper weight for the air is 92 pounds. I cannot find a placard anywhere and I looked in the owners manual which covers several different models but nothing specific about tire pressure in the manual. My question is this:
If the tire pressure has to be 92 psi, what is the total pressure required from the compressor to pump the tires up to 92 psi? I have been told it's considerably more but until I can find out how much more, I won't know what kind of compressor to get or how to go about getting air in the tires when someone actually comes out to put it in by running a service call. Also, I can round down to 90 psi if it makes the mathematics and easier.
Thank you very much for your kind reply.
@StevenH
A compressor capable of 92 psi will inflate the tire. It will be slow though as the tire and tank/compressor equalize to that pressure. Anything greater than 92 psi will allow faster filling of the tire.
The 5.30-12 tires, being wider, are going to make more contact with the road. This means that the noise, and heat build up will be higher than a 4.80-12 tire but the rolling resistance will actually be less because the tire is larger diameter. The…
I went out into the warehouse to measure the Lift Kit #K71-725-02 for you. The holes measure 9 inches on center and 9-1/2 inches on center. I've attached a photo to assist.
The difference between an load range C and load range D tire in the same size is the capacity and psi rating. The two tires will still have the same dimensions and fit on the same wheel. The D rated tire has a higher capacity. For a ST175/80D13 like…
Since both a ST145/R12 size tire, like the Kenda Karrier S-Trail #AM10130, and a 5.30-12 size tire, like the Kenda K353 #AM10068, fit a 12 inch wheel, a ST145/R12 size tire can replace a 5.30-12 size tire. Keep in mind that these tires do have…
Load range B trailer tires are going to have a lower capacity than C load range tires. Basically that, psi rating, and the ply rating are the only differences. A higher load range tire would last a little longer than lower load ranges of the same…
Hey Josh, if you have 2k axles the over under kit part #K71-384-00 would not work as this was designed for a larger diameter trailer axle. But we can help. To create a kit for that axle diameter size you'd need the part #APUBR-10 for the u-bolts…
According to my contact at Dexter Axle, their Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly #42866UC3-EZ fits a wheel with a 4-3/4-inch pilot hole and a 8-on-6-1/2 bolt pattern. Each hub carries a 3500-lb rating.
90-95 ft lbs of torque is probably about right for your trailer rims. If you check out the lug nut torque chart that I attached you will see that nearly all of the torque specs are that and higher.
The two sizes you mentioned are pretty similar and fit many of the same 15 inch wheels. The 205/75-15 fits rim widths of 5 inch to 6-1/2 inch whereas the 225/75-15 fits widths that are 5 inch to 6 inch. The 205 is 27.1 inches tall and the 225 is 28.4…
The tire size you referenced, 4.80-8, and 4.80/4-8 tire are interchangeable. The width is just slightly different, but will fit the same size wheels. The older tire size use to be a 4.00-8, so the 4-8 is added to the tire description so that those…
For a wheel that is 5 inches in width and 15 inches in diameter you would want tires that are size ST205/75-15. For the tire size ST225/75R15 you listed you would want a rim that is from 6-7 inches in width. I attached a department page that has all…
Unfortunately the negative offset is not something we carry in that wheel size. Depending on the offset needed, you may be able to use the zero offset Kenda K500 SuperTurf Tire with 8" White Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range B #AM89992. This wheel…
