Measure the height and width of your existing cutout and compare to the door's stated cutout size. Some 6 Inch Tall Cutout doors list widths like 11-1/16 or 6-3/8, so check your width closely. If your opening is slightly smaller, plan to enlarge the cutout. Also verify outside flange dimensions and screw pattern; some replacements match existing holes and drop in easily.
Confirm the listed finish; black can be flat black, not gloss. If you need white, verify it's offered in the same size. For durability, check material thickness and latch style—some doors use thin plastic and lighter thumb locks, which may not suit heavy-duty cords. If you only need the door panel, confirm its dimensions and whether the door is removable from the frame.
You can choose a key lock or a keyless thumb lock. A thumb lock rotates without a key to keep the hatch shut, but it's lighter duty than a keyed lock. Key codes like CH751 aren't guaranteed.
