Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra electric cable hatch for RVs. This is for use with RV electrical cables up to 50 amps. It does come with the installation putty tape, and the appropriate hardware to get it installed. All the screw heads are painted to match the color of the hatch. You can see, here, that the unit does come with a lock and key, so it is lockable. One key is included.
Place that in, rotate it, easily opens. Nice operation. The unit's also going to come with this little slider door down here. To slide it, you just push it, and then you can rotate it to the side. Rotates out of the way.
That way you can feed the cable out with the main door closed and locked if you wanted to. When it comes to the overall dimensions, going side to side, that's going to give us a measurement of right around 8 inches. Going this direction, that's going to give us a measurement of around 8 1/2 inches. The overall depth from very front to very back, that's going to measure right around and inch and a half. You'll notice that, here, on the mounting flange, this is just a lip that goes around the unit, that's where all the mount holes are going to be located. That's going to give us measurement of about 7/8 of an inch, and that's just measuring the length of that lip that goes around the perimeter of the cut-out area.
The cut-out going this direction, that's going to measure 6 3/8 by 6 7/8 of an inch. When it comes to the small opening, right here, for the cable to pass through, the width measurement is an inch and a quarter. The height measurement from this lip, here, to the top is going to be about 1 3/8. The unit's made from a strong and durable plastic construction that's white in color. Perfect fit for a good price. I like the notch for the cable so no rain comes in when the cable is plugged into shore power.
Recently the access door to my electric cord broke. I struggled to find a new door that fit the opening. Many suppliers didn’t give enough info to determine the size their door would fit. Etrailer gave complete, accurate info, and shipped the next day. They are the first place I will look now for any related needs.
Product looks good. Perhaps I did not install it properly as the door does not shut easy. I have to push it to close. Looks like it does not align up properly after installation. I reinstall a couple of time to try to adjust it but still does not shut properly. Otherwise all ok.

Holding up well.
Product was as expected and arrived in a timely manner
Exactly as advertised, includes a sliding cover notch on the bottom of the door so the power cord can be used with the door closed.
I was having trouble locating the proper size door for my electric service door. This is for an 85 Winnebago Chieftain so I knew I wouldn't find an original. Yours is the closest I could find and was able to fit it to my RV with only a little adjustment.
Great electrical hatch as description. Everything included to mount and seal. It only comes with one key though.
Worked for my application.
It was good.
Works as advertised.

The hatch cover is an exact replacement for the missing cover.With its flip down gate, mice and bugs were kept out of the compartment.

Well-designed, durable product that is easy to install with proper tools. Fulfilled my requirement perfectly.
Fit just fine, I thought they were a bit stingy with the putty stuff that goes around the outside. I used the old screws, they were longer than the new ones.
Came in a timely manner and Emily and her crew were very helpful, as always.
