Stainless Steel RV Sinks for easy upgrades
stainless steel RV sinks make a clean upgrade from plastic or shallow double bowls. Pick top mount/drop-in or undermount to match your counter; installs may use studs with L-brackets and wing nuts, or silicone sealant for a drop-in. Verify your cutout against the flange—about 3/4" smaller is typical—and note some sinks are deeper or have no faucet holes, so minor plumbing or countertop work may be needed. A single bowl frees space for larger pots.
A drop-in is easier to seal. Run silicone sealant around the perimeter. If your sink uses threaded pems, handle them gently and check the wing-nut threads so they start smoothly. Tighten mounting hardware gradually and evenly to avoid stressing the studs.
Yes, many stainless RV sinks work for either. If yours has threaded studs, slip the L-brackets over, lightly start the wing nuts, then tighten in a clockwise rotation. If a model lacks top-mount tabs, set it with silicone sealant and weight it while it cures. When replacing an undermount, you may need to trim the opening and adjust drain plumbing.
Measure the countertop hole and the sink's overall size including the flange. Generally, the hole should be at least 3/4" smaller than the flange. Some flanges are 1" wide. If your cutout is larger than the flange you'll have a gap; if smaller, plan to trim. Also check interior bowl size if space for dishes matters.
Yes, a single basin helps with larger dishes and pots and can be an upgrade over shallow double bowls. Confirm both the overall and cutout fit first. If the new sink is deeper than your original, plan for a bit of extra plumbing work to hook it up.
Some sinks don't include faucet holes. In that case, cut a hole in the countertop behind the sink for a single-mount faucet, and add accessories like a soap dispenser if needed. Verify the faucet style you want and the clearance behind the bowl before drilling.
