Transom savers help prevent motor rocking and take pressure off the transom and tilt/trim, and you can mount using a stern roller or by drilling a quick-release bracket; on galvanized frames, use a carbon bit. Secure the motor side with a rubber strap, and choose rollers or U-bolts sized to your frame.
Measure from your trailer mounting point to the lower unit where the V will cradle. Pick an adjustable range that covers that distance. If you find you need another 4-5 inches on the extension, go with a longer range. Set the pin so the saver is snug when the motor is lowered to help prevent movement.
Use the rubber strap on the motor side to hold it in the V. A small tether or wire on the trailer side can help keep that end from falling off when unhooked. If your trailer lacks a roller, bolt the adapter to the crossmember. Double-check that the bracket is centered and the pin fully seated before towing.
Use the quick-release adapter on your trailer frame. Center it and drill the frame to bolt the adapter in place. If the frame is galvanized steel, use a carbon bit to drill and it will go fine. Some trailers need you to source bolts and nuts that fit. Then set the saver length, pin it, and lower the motor onto the V to seat it.
