Best 1991 Ford Explorer Trailer Hitch Ball Mounts

I bought this product along with the trailer hitch and wiring harness. No issues with anything provided. I installed the kit on a Saturday and was towing a trailer 800 miles on Monday. Great website, I highly recommend Etrailer to anyone needing trailer items and accessories.

This is very good quality. The product was shipped a express shipping at no extra cost to me. I had indicated standard shipping. But the company on its own did the express shipping. The product is very durable and well made. The canvass bag that comes with the product is sturdy and able to hold all of the items with no problems. I found this company by just hitting what size receiver for my 2015 Ford Explorer. Other then that I didn't know about them. A terrific company in which to do business with. Didn't realize that the unit came with a pin and clip so I ordered one. Now I have 2. No problem. Good product and it was delivered 2 days earlier than anticipated!

Good fit into the receiver. The hols for the ball was a little larger than I expected, so will have to get a new one.

Great design, easy install. Runs a touch low but that's how the back of Ford Explorer is designed for after-market installs. I would have probably purchased a hitch with upright assembly if possible.

This hitch fits my Explorer great. My camping trailer & utility trailer now pull level. I only wish the hitch reached a little further into the receiver. It seems a little short to me.

Fits our VW Touareg perfectly and allows us to tow a variety of things now. As can be seen in the pictures the hitch has a +5-inch gap between the bumper and the vertical adjustment pillar and the trailer itself is out further so there's enough room to get to the rear hatch and maneuver the vehicle/trailer.

I needed a hitch that I could haul my work trailer with and still drop the tailgate without dropping the trailer. I looked on etrailer and found one that would work barely but decided to call etrailer and see if anyone had any ideas. Steve answered and looked after I told him my requirements and came up with this. This has a longer distance from ball to pin by a few inches compared to the one I found so my tailgate will still drop even if I’m at an angle to my trailer or on a hill. Also with the adjustable height it’s great. Awesome hitch. Solid for a good price. ??

As advertised at a good price. I need the drop down for my Ford Explorer, as the hitch receptacle on the bumper is too high for my trailer to be level without the drop. Works well.............

I needed a 6 inch drop ball mount for my new utility trailer. I knew that Etrailer would have a quality product to fit this. Curt is a great product.

I purchased this Curt Ball mount 10-1/4" because I also bought ball hitch mounted mud flaps and my existing hitch was too short.This hitch was maybe a little too long, but it should work.I hope this combination will protect my horse trailer from my nasty gravel roads!

Parts were delivered earlier than the initial estimate. Self installation (on a sloped drive way) took just under 2 hour. The fit of parts was very good, instructions and on-line video's were very helpful. My Kia did not have the wire plug in option, but the splice connections in the wire kit were easy to install. Most of the parts are hidden from view when the ball mount is not used.

Product came just as described and fit perfectly for what I needed. I used it for a hitch mounted on the frame of the rear of my fifth wheel rv. Hitch was mounted at the very end of the I-beam style frame i had on rv but I wasn't comfortable with the length of a standard size ball mount receiver. It needed to be longer. Very happy with this ball mount - provides just the amount of drop we required for a level tow of our GeoPro travel trailer by our RAM2500. Plus, the extra length not only allows a tighter turning radius, but also allows us to lower the truck tailgate without having to detach the trailer. Huge improvement on all accounts for us compared to our prior setup. The product is well built and I'm confident will provide us years of good use.

Arrived today. Fast shipping, and thank you for that! Seems to be a quality ball mount. Just what I needed to get the ball lower to tow my trailer. With this, now the top of the ball is at 16" where it needs to be. Custom built receiver on my old moving box van. Just need to weld on safety chain slots and paint it. Can't drop the lift gate with the receiver in (its pinned on both sides), but hey....I can tow now.

Tow infrequently; got new(to us) 2015 RAM 2500 pick up to tow our 38’ touring travel trailer. Have a HD WD hitch & adjustable sway control hitch set up we use for this trailer, but needed a drop hitch for our smaller Travel trailer& misc use haul trailer,,,,both much lighter & do not require the sway control set up. This drop hitch & ball fit the bill perfectly as the needed drop did not provide suffice t ground clearances to utilize the WD hitch mount setup (which was not needed) for those smaller loads. E-trailer worked w us to get the product we needed & an option that was inexpenve but sufficiently rated to pull our smaller trailers! Very happy our results !

The Extra Long Ball Mount proved useful immediately upon receipt. Easy to use. Stows away to avoid bumping knees. Would have given 5 stars but it’s expensive. I would still recommend.
