Well made 2 inch drawbar. The only shortcoming is that the 2 inch ball shank has no drilled hole to fit a cotter pin. 730070

It looks like you paired the Curt 2 Inch Ball # 40038
2" Hitch Ball - 1" Diameter x 2-1/4" Long Shank - Chrome - 12,000 lbs
$11.40
with this ball mount - great option. That hitch ball, and none of our other hitch ball options, feature a hole in the shank to fit a cotter pin. The hitch ball should be installed and torqued to the specifications provided by the manufacturer with the hitch ball.

Working in the sand and grass of my driveway my wife and I installed our new etrailer receiver hitch. Great fit and finish! Went right on as described in the online guide. Hitch required a spacer washer on top back bolt attachment point. Taped it on so it would not move while lifting in place and it stayed right there! Used a car jack to raise up and hold the hitch into the underside of the trunk tighten the bolts and reattached the tail pipe done. Now we can pull our Sunfish Sailboat any where the car will go. 154242

  • How to Choose Correct Rise/Drop in a Ball Mount to Tow Level Enclosed Tandem Axle Trailer
To select the correct ball mount that will allow you to tow level, you must take two measurements into consideration. First, measure from the ground (on level ground) to the top inside portion of your square hitch receiver opening. Second, measure from the ground (on level ground) to the bottom flat portion of your trailer coupler. Using a trailer level like the Hopkins Cross-Check Trailer Level # HM09615 will help ensure you get the most accurate measurements. Next, simply calculate...

  • Can a Ball Mount Be Inverted To Give a Rise Instead of Drop
I am not exactly sure which particular ball mount this is in reference to but the one you came from, the Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitches part # 2753 can be inverted to increase rise up to 2-3/4". This is the case for most ball mounts as well but if you let me know exactly which one you have then I can confirm this for you. Please note, you will want the distance from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler to be equal or close to the distance from the ground to the top inside...

The Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 2-3/4" Rise, 4" Drop - 9" Long - 7.5K # 2753 is not the correct fit for zero rise or drop. • Ball Mount Recommendation for 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
The Draw-Tite # 2753 will give you just shy of 3 inches of rise. The next step up from that as far as rise goes would be the Curt # D-28 which would give you 4 inches. You'd also need a # PC3 hitch pin. For almost 5 inches of rise, use the Draw-Tite # 40346 along with the same hitch pin. Keep in mind that the hitch and the trailer coupler height do not need to be exactly the same, but the closer you can get, the better. If you can get within 1-2 inches, that's plenty close enough.
