Hi Stephanie! Great question and you’re totally right to ask, because most hitches for the 2024 RAV4 do require a bit of bumper trimming. That includes the Oris Detachable Hitch #TS66VR, since it uses a hidden design that needs a hole cut in the fascia for the receiver to come through.
If you’d rather skip the cutting, I’d recommend going with the Curt Class 3 Hitch #C77MJ. It bolts right to the frame and sits neatly under the bumper no trimming required. It's not completely concealed... view full answer...
Since Demco uses 3,500 drum brake assemblies part # DMSB24429M and # DMSB24428M what you'd need is similar 3,500 electric brake assemblies like the etrailer part # AKEBRK-35L-SA for the left hand side and # AKEBRK-35R-SA for the right hand side.
To wire these up you'd just need 10 gauge wire like the part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot. Then to add a 7-way the easiest way to do that is with the 7-way junction box # e99011. view full answer...
Hey Ben, I checked with Curt and the hitch part # C77MJ that you referenced fits all models of the 2025 Toyota RAV4 including your PHEV. What are you planning on using the hitch for? view full answer...
Hey Adrian! The higher capacity for the B&W # BW47BR and Curt # C77MJ comes from the construction. The B&W hitch weighs 45 lbs and then the Curt and Trailer Mate # TMT54FR both weigh 32 lbs. The Trailer Mate does sit just a tad higher compared to the others. The distance from the gound to the top inside of the receiver tube is 12". The same measurement is 11-3/4" for the B&W hitch and then 11-1/2" for the Curt.
The Trailer Mate Hitch # TMT54FR is a budget friendly option that is actually... view full answer...
Hi Sharon,
There is not a weight rating for the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # T58GR that fit your 2022 Toyota RAV4, they will be effective regardless of the weight on the springs, as they compress based on the amount of weight you have there.
The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs # AL64VJ have a 1,000 lb weight rating, though that means they can help level your RAV4 with up to 1,000 lbs of weight on the springs.
Realistically though, there won't be 1,000 lbs... view full answer...
I compared ground clearance measurements for all of the 2" trailer hitch receivers we have for your 2017 Toyota RAV4 and found that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13406 has a great clearance from the ground to the top of the hitch receiver tube opening.
When we tested this trailer hitch on a similar 2017 Toyota RAV4, we found that the distance from the ground to the top of the hitch receiver tube opening was about 15". Please, please keep in mind that 2017 Toyota RAV4 we tested... view full answer...
The Thule Hullavator Pro, part # TH898, does in fact need crossbars that extend 4" - 8" beyond the feet. To use the flush rails on your 2021 Toyota RAV4, you will need a roof rack that has feet that are compatible with the rails.
With those two stipulations in mind, the Thule WingBar Evos don't look like they will provide enough clearance with their 47" of crossbar length. Instead, I recommend the Yakima HD Crossbars, part # Y01156. They are 55" long, so they will have the extension you... view full answer...
The main difference between the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13416 and the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH97FR is that the EcoHitch has a completely hidden cross tube whereas the Curt cross tube will be visible from the rear of vehicle which you can see in the attached photo.
The other difference between the EcoHitch option and the Curt option is that the EcoHitch has a 5,000 lb towing capacity whereas the Curt only has a 4,000 lb towing capacity but you will still... view full answer...
In order to install a 7-way trailer connector which can both power the brakes and charge the trailer battery on a 2019 Toyota RAV4 you'll need to start with a 4-way, the Curt Wiring Harness part # C56434 is what I recommend as it's plug-n-play and our most reliable option.
Once the 4-way is installed you can then adapt this to a 7-way, the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation part # ETBC7L which is designed to be used with the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake... view full answer...
Hi John; we actually have both a hitch and wiring available for your 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE Premium. I recommend the following:
-TowSmart Trailer Hitch Receiver # TS42VR
OR
-Oris Hitches Detachable Hitch # TS66VR
-Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56434
The TowSmart hitch is my new go to for the RAV4. It has a concealed cross tube so only the receiver will be visible at the rear. It also comes with a matte black finish. If you would... view full answer...
Hey Jeff, the Curt hitch part # C77MJ and the TowSmart part # TS42VR are both really great hitches. They are similar enough in design that I wouldn't say one or the other is more hidden. Now if you wanted something totally hidden we have the Oris part # TS66VR which has a removable lower hitch opening that allows it to be totally hidden when not in use. My wife has this hitch on her Rav4 and it's really nice and we like it a lot. Is plan to do some towing? view full answer...
Hey Adam, yes the B and W hitch part # BW47BR that you referenced is a confirmed fit for your 2025 Toyota RAV4 plug in hybrid. What are you planning on using the hitch for? view full answer...
The best trunk mounted bike rack that fits your 2014 Toyota RAV4 is the Yakima FullBack part # Y02634 as it's the easiest to install, has a larger mounting pad so it spreads out weight of bikes and rack on the vehicle, has locks for both the bikes and the rack, and also has cradle straps that are easier to use. I attached a picture of this rack on a similar 2019 Rav4 as well as an install video link as well.
If you were looking for a hitch mounted option you'd instead want the Hollywood... view full answer...
No you would not want to wire the module on the # C56434 to the 12v receptacle in the rear. Main reason being this outlet may not have enough power to power the outlet and the trailer lights at the same time. A wire will have to be run directly to the battery so that we have a dependable, constant 12v. The Curt instructions are very specific on this, and we do not recommend deviating from the instructions in any way. view full answer...
Hi Craig, I can supply that. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper on the # C77MJ is approximately 3-1/4". If you want the clearance it is 12" from the ground to the top inside of the receiver tube.

For a hitch that fits your 2024 RAV4 Hybrid I recommend the etrailer # e84ZV. This Class III hitch has a bolt-on installation and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. It also has a concealed cross tube for a nice clean look and a matte black finish to help hide dirt and dings.
If you plan on towing you will also need wiring and a ball mount. The Tekonsha # 118801 plugs into the connection points in your rear cargo area and will give you a 4-way for your trailer lights. For a ball mount,... view full answer...
Hi Lori, that’s a great question and I completely understand wanting to be sure before ordering, especially with the hybrid since it can feel like those models sometimes have different mounting points.
I was able to confirm that the Curt part # C77MJ is designed to fit all 2019 RAV4 models, including the Hybrid that is not the Prime, so you won’t run into issues with alignment or fitment. It uses the factory mounting locations on the frame just like the gas models, so it’s a true custom... view full answer...
Hey, Debbie!
The etrailer Spare Tire Mount, part # e98ZR, that goes into a 2" hitch would be a perfect spare tire mount for your 2023 Toyota RAV4. It's really easy to take on and off if needed. If you do find yourself removing it and putting it back on, it comes with an alignment collar. I attached a photo of the collar mounted on the shank of the carrier so you can see how it's used.
Are you wanting to use this carrier to have easier access to your spare tire? view full answer...
