Do Timbren Coil Springs For 2022 Toyota RAV4 Have Weight Rating

Updated 12/02/2024 | Published 05/13/2024

Question:

The Air lift helper springs are rated for 1,000 lbs, does the Timbren version help up to a certain amount of weight as well?

Hi Sharon,

There is not a weight rating for the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # T58GR that fit your 2022 Toyota RAV4, they will be effective regardless of the weight on the springs, as they compress based on the amount of weight you have there.

The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs # AL64VJ have a 1,000 lb weight rating, though that means they can help level your RAV4 with up to 1,000 lbs of weight on the springs.

Realistically though, there won't be 1,000 lbs (or more) of weight applied to the rear suspension of your RAV4, as it can't tow a trailer heavy enough to put that kind of force on it. That said, I'd go with the Timbrens # T58GR due to their ease of use, as you install them and that's it, compared to the consistent monitoring and inflating of air pressure you'd have to do with the air springs.

Don't forget to advertise that you will need to drill a hole in the rubber and use zip ties to hold them in place.... or they will always spin downward on the spring.... you all failed to inform me of that BEFORE I left a 5 star review or I would have only gave it a 2 star rating

@Donnie Thanks for your feedback. The Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # T58GR actually comes with a rubber bumper and retaining clip that secures around the OEM spring, below the Timbren, and helps to keep the Timbren spring from slipping. I just went out to our warehouse to make sure the kit still comes with it and the bumper and clip were in the box, but I could see how it might fall out when the user unpacks the box.

@JonG I purchased them and when I returned them. I talked to your engineer on the phone. And they were not aware of that at that time and my set of timbrens did not come with any kind of clips to hold them, and they advised me which was your people advised me to drill a hole and zip tie them. And I told them I was not going to drill a hole so I returned them and they refunded my money.

@Donn>e I looked up the notes on your order and our customer service rep put in that you spoke with Timbren directly about that (as opposed to etrailer.com). Not sure why they wouldn't have mentioned those parts, but maybe they assumed those parts were already being used and they were trying to recommend a sure-fire way to keep the springs in place. Anyways, thanks again for reaching out - I just wanted to check in and see if those clips had been used. I can't say I'm happy that the Timbren engineer didn't mention them, but I'm disappointed it sounds like they didn't cover all of their bases.
