Create a more stable ride for your tow vehicle and trailer with a weight distribution hitch. Adding spring bars to your towing system applies leverage, which transfers the load that is pushing down on the rear of your vehicle to all of the axles on both your tow vehicle and your trailer, resulting in an even distribution of weight throughout. The result is a smooth, level ride, and it also gives you the ability to tow the maximum capacity of your hitch.
The tongue weight rating is the most important factor in determining which size weight distribution system you should use. If the bars of the system you choose are rated too high for your towing setup, they will create a rigid ride, which can result in a bouncing trailer. If, on the other hand, the bars are not rated high enough, the system will be unable to properly distribute the weight, rendering it virtually useless.
To determine the proper weight rating for a weight distribution system, you must first determine your trailer's tongue weight. Then add the weight of the cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. These two measurements make up the tongue weight rating for a weight distribution system.
The TrackPro features 2 different sway control technologies to provide the best towing experience possible.
The TrackPro is built with a positive caster angle - pointed toward the rear of your trailer - to help stop sway before it even starts. This is the same technology that vehicles use to stay centered on the road. When you turn a corner in your car and let go of the steering wheel, the wheel automatically corrects itself and returns to center. This is caster taking over. Likewise, the TrackPro features a positive caster angle built into the hitch. Working in tandem with the tapered spring bars to create a self-centering force, this caster angle helps to keep your trailer consistently centered behind your tow vehicle, even during high winds and sharp turns, resulting in a smoother towing experience.
While this system does its best to keep your trailer in line, the TrackPro is also able to correct sway should it occur. Unlike many traditional weight distribution systems with chain-style setups, the TrackPro uses steel brackets to hold the ends of the spring bars, and therefore your trailer, in place. While chain-style setups do a good job with weight distribution alone, they aren't really designed to limit sway, so they typically allow a good amount of side-to-side play.
In addition to better holding the trailer in line, these brackets create friction with the spring bars to combat sway that might occur in heavy winds or following sudden maneuvers. When this type of sway happens, the tapered ends of the spring bars slide within the L-brackets that are mounted on the trailer tongue. When each spring bar moves forward or backward, or side to side, it rubs along the bracket, creating friction. This friction limits the movement of the spring bar, which minimizes further side-to-side movement of the trailer. The steel-on-steel friction that occurs with the TrackPro's spring bars is the same sort of friction that is used with locomotives that pull loaded railcars that weigh multiple tons, so you know it'll be highly effective.
Many weight distribution systems require you to manually adjust the pitch of the hitch head by stacking washers. This can be a tedious, trial-and-error process where you have to unhook your trailer, disassemble the head to add or remove washers to get the desired tilt, put it all back together, and then determine if you have the correct placement. If the pitch still isn't right, you have to do it all over again.
The TrackPro removes all of that hassle with an easy-to-use hitch head that has the required pitch already built into it. Whereas other systems require washers to help achieve the proper tension in the head, the positive caster angle built into the TrackPro ensures the proper pitch, so there's no need to manually adjust the tilt. The only adjustment that may be needed is the placement of the head on the shank. Move the head up or down along the weight distribution shank to achieve the proper rise or drop for your setup. No additional, fine-tune adjustment is needed.

Hi there, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Blue Ox TrackPro weight distribution with sway control, 11-hole shank, 10,000 pound gross towing weight rated, and a 1,000 pound tongue weight rated. Now if you are unfamiliar with weight distribution systems, basically they're set up to ensure a level and stable ride when towing by evenly distributing the weight over the axles of your tow vehicle and trailer or camper. They're gonna help you maintain better control of your vehicle and avoid that trailer sag and excessive wear and tear on your tires and your components. So the built-in sway control, let's say you get a burst of air from, like, a semi passing you or something, that's gonna help keep you straight, and you're not gonna feel that push as much. So it's really nice.
It is made in the USA. It has a limited lifetime warranty. It has a nice heavy duty black powder coat finish on it all over all the metal. It's got nice spring clip pins. It comes with two chain links for your safety chains to mount.
It comes with your instructions. It also comes with the spring bar tool. The spring bar tool, you'll simply insert it under the spring bar. You'll get it up to a pivot point, maybe the top of the trailer frame, and you'll pivot these up onto the L brackets. And then you'll retain the pin or the spring bar with the retaining pin.
Now let's take a look here at the shank. Get a close up here. The shank is made for a 2" by 2" trailer hitch receiver. You wanna make sure to check with your manufacturer of the vehicle, or the hitch, rather, that your particular hitch is rated for use with weight distribution systems. Most are, but some aren't, so always check with the manufacturer.
Sometimes there's a sticker on your trailer hitch, but not always. It is gonna come with the hitch pin and clip. The head assembly, again, the two spring bars, as far as the drop, you're gonna get a 3" drop. And as far as a rise, you could flip this over and you could put this head on and give it a up to 17" rise. This particular ball is a 2 5/16 ball. And if you can see in here, there's a little shadow there, but there's a greaser down in there. You wanna make sure you're greasing up the pivot points here and everything where your spring bars to give it a nice, clean, smooth actuating function of the system. The whole system is a no-drill, bolt-on kit, so you don't have to worry about drilling through your frame or anything. These brackets will accommodate most things such as your propane tanks, gas tanks, battery boxes, toolboxes, maybe even a generator, whatever you got up there on your front of the camper, that should work with it. From the center of the ball back on your trailer frame, this kit needs to be within 20 to 25" from the center of this ball back. So that's your safe working area on this particular kit. Again, the tongue weight is rated between 800 to a 1,000 pounds max. The overall weight capacity of the system is 10,000 pounds gross towing weight. I hope that helped you out. This has been a look at our Blue Ox TrackPro weight distribution system with sway control, 10,000 pound rated. I'm Steven, thank you for having the time with me today. We'll see you next time.

Minimize trailer sway and ensure a level, stable ride with this weight distribution system. Positive caster angle works to keep your trailer centered and steel-on-steel friction corrects sway. Fast, easy setup. 2-5/16" Ball included.Major improvement over using 2 inch hitch opening with adapter!
Worked great on our Ram 2500 4x4. Clearly needed the extra holes.
Fits perfectly into my receiver and the lady I spoke with at e-trailer was super helpful and did research for me while I was on the phone to make sure this was the correct part for my truck. Kudos to e-Trailer
Very heavy/durable Shank!
Great hitch shank!
Super fast shipp ing!
Excellent service from friendly and professional sales personnel. Fast shipping by their operations team, and my order arrived earlier than promised. What a great experience in this era when most companies’ customer service is pretty dismal! Thanks etrailer, you exceeded my expectations.
Great communication. Easy purchase. I will use again.
Part doesn't fit with bx88418 (2 1/2 receiver adjustable drop receiver add-on. I was told receiver bx88418 would fit fastway hitch which it doesn't so I ordered BLU26fr (above)and it doesn't fit that. lots of money spent, misinformation twice and time trying to get what I need.
Just what I needed. Special purpose, no weld solution. Drivers of old or custom trucks read on.
2003 F350 SuperCab Longbed 4x4 with brand new, way heavier leaf springs all 4 corners (some modification required to perches and pins) in 2021, still using factory 2" hitch, getting level was a problem being smaller and higher than today's setups. Shank and upgrade to 2,000 lb spring bars nailed it. Also, trailer coupler has 3 vertical adjustments, so placed coupler at top.
Note that making the new stuff work on old stuff is an expensive headache that leaves brand new, expensive, low demand parts piled up in its wake. Suggest upgrading your hitch or buying pieces a la carte, as 2,000 lb tongue, long shank and 2" receiver has become antiquated.
Fits receiver very snug. No more need for receiver adapter. Well made and exactly what I needed to haul our camper more safely. Highly recommend this shank if you have a 2-1/2" receiver.
This was exactly what I needed. The 2.5” shank makes it easier to install and remove from the truck, without the adapter. It’s a tighter fit without the adapter as well, so less rattle. It also dropped my trailer about 2 more inches from my previous 5-hole receiver, which makes the trailer almost perfectly level behind my 2017 Ram 2500 4x4. Shipping from eTrailer was free and ridiculously fast!
Arrived 2 days after it was ordered, packaged perfectly. Customer service was very friendly, efficient when I called for delivery address correction, ( they do not deliver to P.O. BOX ).
Shank is top quality, and fit perfectly to the rest of the Blue Ox Weight Distributing Hitch.
Great technical advice. I ordered late in the day and it still shipped that day. As always great service from the etrailer team!
Worked perfectly. Etrailer os my goto p lace
