Hi there, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Blue Ox TrackPro weight distribution with sway control, 11-hole shank, 10,000 pound gross towing weight rated, and a 1,000 pound tongue weight rated. Now if you are unfamiliar with weight distribution systems, basically they're set up to ensure a level and stable ride when towing by evenly distributing the weight over the axles of your tow vehicle and trailer or camper. They're gonna help you maintain better control of your vehicle and avoid that trailer sag and excessive wear and tear on your tires and your components. So the built-in sway control, let's say you get a burst of air from, like, a semi passing you or something, that's gonna help keep you straight, and you're not gonna feel that push as much. So it's really nice.
It is made in the USA. It has a limited lifetime warranty. It has a nice heavy duty black powder coat finish on it all over all the metal. It's got nice spring clip pins. It comes with two chain links for your safety chains to mount.
It comes with your instructions. It also comes with the spring bar tool. The spring bar tool, you'll simply insert it under the spring bar. You'll get it up to a pivot point, maybe the top of the trailer frame, and you'll pivot these up onto the L brackets. And then you'll retain the pin or the spring bar with the retaining pin.
Now let's take a look here at the shank. Get a close up here. The shank is made for a 2" by 2" trailer hitch receiver. You wanna make sure to check with your manufacturer of the vehicle, or the hitch, rather, that your particular hitch is rated for use with weight distribution systems. Most are, but some aren't, so always check with the manufacturer.
Sometimes there's a sticker on your trailer hitch, but not always. It is gonna come with the hitch pin and clip. The head assembly, again, the two spring bars, as far as the drop, you're gonna get a 3" drop. And as far as a rise, you could flip this over and you could put this head on and give it a up to 17" rise. This particular ball is a 2 5/16 ball. And if you can see in here, there's a little shadow there, but there's a greaser down in there. You wanna make sure you're greasing up the pivot points here and everything where your spring bars to give it a nice, clean, smooth actuating function of the system. The whole system is a no-drill, bolt-on kit, so you don't have to worry about drilling through your frame or anything. These brackets will accommodate most things such as your propane tanks, gas tanks, battery boxes, toolboxes, maybe even a generator, whatever you got up there on your front of the camper, that should work with it. From the center of the ball back on your trailer frame, this kit needs to be within 20 to 25" from the center of this ball back. So that's your safe working area on this particular kit. Again, the tongue weight is rated between 800 to a 1,000 pounds max. The overall weight capacity of the system is 10,000 pounds gross towing weight. I hope that helped you out. Product was shipped very fast. I received in three days. Price was best I could find as well. The only thing I would advise for etrailer, is to do a better job shipping heavy products. My box was busted wide open, and it was defiantly an insufficient box for the items inside. I was lucky to not lose anything.

My only gripe with etrailer is shipping quality. This is a heavy item, well constructed, heavy duty, not lightweight. To ship this in a standard cardboard box without reinforcement is nuts. When delivered by UPS this box had gapping holes and part of the contents were protruding outside the shipping box. My UPS driver stated that such heavy items should be attached to a wood skeleton inside the box to keep from moving around during shipment. To my amazement all the parts were present, albeit banged up a bit with paint damage and gouging. So be aware that you may find your order in similar condition. etrailer responds to me with yada yada. Not real happy with this one but the unit itself is quite robust although a little black enamel will be required.

I bought the 10K to replace a worn out 12K Equalizer hitch. Does the same job as my previous hitch and is lighter in weight. That helps me out since I remove it from my truck when not in use and I'm not getting any younger :)

It was installed professionally by camping world. Coating is all coming off. Arms pop out during travel. The square pins fall though slots. The angled brackets that mount to camper chassis are failing. Its the worst hitch I have ever owned. Literally.

Oh my goodness! Typically I would recommend touching up the hitch with a rust resistant paint as over time the powder coating will become marred. However since it has not been that long I will have the manufacturer reach out to you.

I bought this in April '22 for our new trailer. The second day of our trip to Alaska, one of the Retaining Keys with the cotter pin fell off. It was while hooking up to our campsite that we saw it was gone and the spring bar bar had been free of mooring. Luckily we had a C Bolt and duck tape to hold the one sway bar without the retaining key and taped up the other to make sure it didn't fall off on the rest of our journey. When we called Blue Ox they sent two day to AK the two packages of the retaining key w/step. These turned out different than the ones that came on the TracPro and are thicker and shorter - I think these were suppose to come with the TracPro WD/Sway and should have been in the package when we got it. There is too much play between the sring bar and the L Bracket with the Retaining key that was in our order. Pictures for reference. If you order the Blue Ox TracPro, call make and sure you get the correct Retaining Keys with it, you should not have to buy them separately.

Received my weight distribution hitch with two days of placing my order. The hitch works well for my set up and installation was easy. My truck hitch weight is 600lbs. and max tow weight is 6000lbs. My 22ft. long RV trailer max capacity loaded is about 20% less than my trucks specs. Etrailer sells quality accessories. Their prices are good, and their experience, knowledge and customer service are the best. It would be hard to find a better dealer that could provide better service with very fast shipping.

This thing is amazing! I bought this to haul my 24’ car (toy) hauler behind my 03 Suburban which has coil springs instead of leaf springs. This hitch has made a world of difference. I honestly was shocked at the difference it made. It almost feels like I’m not hauling a trailer at all.

Bought this to reduce rear sag in truck and you would think installing is pretty common sense but apparently it isn't. Instructions aren't very clear and since sad didn't go away at all, I'm guessing it isn't installed correctly. Instructions need to be MORE clear than they are otherwise you'll need to pay a professional to install it as I have no idea if it's correct or not.

Love this hitch system. I was hesitant to spend the money but I am so glad that I did. I have had the system for about a year now and it has impressed me every time I use it. I recently put a 3.5” lift kit on my truck and with the easy adjustments on the hitch system, I was able to accommodate for the lift in about 20 minutes. Would recommend

Works well. It's my first time with a distribution hitch, so I've no basis for comparison. I tow a 7200# 30' trailer with a 2007 F-150 (full-timer). It took a few trips to the scales to get things right, since I'm very close to my weight limits. Product arrived without the receiver (damaged box). Etrailer was very quick to provide replacement.
On assembly, I discovered that it was sent with incorrect mounting plates. Blue Ox expedited a parts kit. Overall, it seems to work well. I still have to be careful with wind, or I get pushed around on the road. It's mostly a non-issue.
I've traveled about 5-6K miles, and there is some noticeable wear, scoring, and rust developing where the torsion bars meet the trailer. These parts should be easily replaceable, as long as they're still manufactured. You may want to consider spares once you confirm that you have the correct bars. The friction points can develop metal splinters.
The pivots started showing wear after a long stretch of bouncy highway in Iowa. It was within the 1st 1000 miles, so I'll count this as break-in. I just readjusted the mounting point on the trailer at an overnight stop. I haven't had to adjust it since. The slop in the bushings makes for a greasy mess.
Wear gloves and put a plastic bag over the receiver when you remove it, or you're going to get greasy. Also, be careful of how low the receiver hangs down. I've caught it twice in uneven parking lots. I'm leaving it long, since it helps protect the tongue jack.
It meets expectation. Etrailer and Blue Ox provided excellent customer service. I still took one star, since I was on a deadline with work, and my plans got pushed back two weeks because of this. With a weight distribution system, you want the loaded tongue weight of your trailer to fall within the middle of the tongue weight range that the weight distribution bars are rated for. The bars that are on this weight distribution system BLU67FR are rated for tongue weights between 600 and 800 lbs. Since you say your trailer weight is 7200 lbs, it is possible that you may be overloading the bars. I would suggest that you measure the exact tongue weight with the trailer loaded. You can measure your exact tongue weight with part # e99044. If your tongue weight is between 800 to 1,000 lbs, I recommend to switch out the bars with part # BLU52FR, which have a higher capacity. If your loaded tongue weight happens to be over 1,000 lbs, then you should use part # BLU32FR.

Hello, The weight distribution seems to work fine. We took our traveler trailer on 2 trips since purchasing the trailer hitch and all the accessories. The sway is just frightening. We have not had any real wind, this was in May and July of this year. But super scary, and when a tractor trailer passes us, even just one, forget it. We are towing with a big Ford Expition also. I would not recommend this model. It was expensive and we will have to figure out what we are going to replace it with. Gil

Excessive sway may indicate that the trailer is improperly loaded. As a guideline, the tongue weight should be 10-15 percent of gross trailer weight. If it is not, redistribute the weight accordingly. If you encounter continuous sway or swaying that does not dissipate quickly, adjust the load. I however, do not know your trailer or weights so you may need a biggerstronger system. If you let me know what you are working with I can get you a better system.

This tows very well. However the hitch head is very heavy, and the brackets on the trailer tongue for the spring bars loosen up regardless of bolt torque.

Hey Michael! Have you tried blue Loctite on the threads of the l-bracket bolts? I have not heard of those bolts loosening over time so checked out the instructions and they reference using the blue Loctite.

Easy to install haven’t driven the truck yet, but it seems to be doing exactly what it needs too.
Trailer hooked up with the blue ox the rear of the truck sits 4” higher than without. The nose drops about 3/4” compared to no blue ox. Massive difference in the right direction.
The photos are a 2021 4Runner no extra load in the back. Trailers 17’ ~3,500lbs max. I believe about a 350lb tongue weight and was mostly un-loaded.

You mentioned that your trailer unloaded weight is 350 pounds and I wondered what your loaded tongue weight would be? The reason that I ask if that this systems spring bars have a tongue weight range of 600 to 800 pounds. If the tongue weight of the trailer is under the tongue weight of the bars then it can create a noisier and bumpy ride. I know that you are happy with the system however I wanted to let you know in case this changes. You can always swap out the bars and go with part # BLU82FR which are rated for 200 to 600 pounds.

Product works great, I had an issue with one of the brackets. A quick email to blue ox and I had replacement parts on my porch a week later at no cost to me. I think the blue ox model that uses the chains, and the bracket that requires drilling to the frame may be better. Not that there’s anything wrong with this model, I think just in hind sight I would have preferred that more permanent installation over the clamp on style. I actually changed out my travel trailer for a larger one, and easily moved the blue ox over. Still works great, I love showing this thing off to friends neighbors when I get the chance. Everyone is always amazed at how it levels out the truck so perfectly.

the only problem I had was when the UPS man picked up the box all the nuts,bolts and hair pins fell out. other than that, I have received accurate advice as for the purchase and i am very happy with the hitch and its quality. easy to set yp and sturdy. tows great

the Blue ox hithch has worked well. We had a problem with the torsion bar coming out of the keeper brackets in certain situations. I called E-trailer and they gave me Blue oxs number blue ox told me that there were updated keepers for the bar and they sent the ups to my next destination free of charge. I installed them I now have 12,000 miles on them without a problem

I used this twice and then purchased another brand, it did not fit my rig properly. In order to put the arms on the brackets (that are on the trailer) I had to raise the rear of the truck very high. Not fun or safe.

Using a trailer jack to lift the truck and trailer up a bit to take tension weight off the bars is often an easier way to put them on.

First my truck and trailer sit and travel LEVEL, and I am pleased with the hitch after loosing one of the original “pins” while traveling(these are the pins that keep the sway bars on L brackets). I ordered the replacement “Pins” Now after a couple thousand miles, I do like how stable the truck and trailer are when other vehicles pass, the side push pull is much less. If the hitch came with the replacement “Pins” this would be a 5 Star Review.

This is a strong, well built WD hitch receiver. Arrived undamaged and I was able to install it easily, instructions were clear and etrailer has several videos that make it clear just what to do. My only concern was that the amount of noise the tension bars would make with movement, especially turning, but that has turned out to be minimal. The recommended setting of the hardware where the bars rest turned out to be just right for my 2015 Odyssey, and the camper (Little Guy Mini Max) and van ride level and within specs. Driving the combo was very satisfactory with nary a wiggle or sway, and ground clearance is also fine . I do have one complaint, and other reviews mention this too: the hardware that mounts on the trailer tongue tends to rotate during the stress of use, and I have had to readjust mine twice now. The use of nylon lock nuts for this hardware was not a good choice by the manufacturer. I am switching to lock washers and standard nuts of proper rating to see if that solves the problem. Were it not for this issue, I would have given a 5-star rating.

The Good: This has worked out great. It’s a must have for a trucker camper and trailer setup. We drove across the country without a weight distribution hitch and it was nerve racking! Every semi that passed us would nearly run us off the road. When we traveled back home with the new hitch it was a night and day difference. The hitch eliminated all sway. I can actually use my cruise control now!
The Bad: When the hitch arrived, it would fit into my truck’s receiver. RAM trucks have a very tight opening on their 2.5” factory receivers. The Blue Ox hitch was oversized by 3/8”. I had to machine the hitch to get it to fit.

Works just as it should as my 20trailer is now stable without sway and my tow vehicle rides level. I have also noticed rotating hardware on the trailer frame, but only to a point where the flat bottom of the torsion bar lies flat against the L bracket whereas it doesnt rotate any further. Ive kept it at this slight angle and it works great. Heavy duty and built tough.
