Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located beneath the rear driver's side of your vehicle. You will find the harness attached to a grommet between the wheel well and the bumper. Once you've plugged in the connectors, insert the included fuse into the in-line fuse holder.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

by:
2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

Easy install connecters were plug in ready. Ties could be a little longer. Thanks.

by:
Hyundai Santa Fe

Getting more information on tray removal on my Santa Fe would have save me at least an hour. Once I had everthing removed the wiring was easy.

by:
2012 Hyundai Santa Fe

Very fast shipment. Complete w instructions. I would definitely use them again.

by:

Easy to install, looks better made then oringial harness

by:

Product was as described and contained everything needed. It installed per directions (included) and works fine.

by:
2012 Hyundai Santa Fe

Would have been easier if I didn't have to remove the interior, but overall straight forward.

by:
2011 Hyundai Santa Fe

Straight forward installation, but zip-ties were to short to wrap around the hitch tube.

by:

Wiring harness was as descibed and I intstalled it in less than 1 hour. Shipping was fast, no hassles.

by:
2012 Hyundai Santa Fe

on my 2012 santa fe it was just plug in ,wire to other wires ,plug into trailer and go. 5-10 minutes so easy.

by:
Hyundai Santa Fe

Wiring harness was just what I ordered. But the follow up tip email was the most help ever thanks Katie. Your the best. And thanks etrailer

by:

Perfect fit 1/2 hour to install hitch 3/4 to install light harness great instructions

by:
2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Fit and installation was excellent. The instructions need better pictures however, with arrows and descriptors a little better adn pointing specifically at screws to remove and not remove.

by:
2012 Hyundai Santa Fe

Easy-peasy lemon squeezy. Good design, installation is relatively straightforward. You don't have to completely remove all of the suggested panels, just enough to be able to get your hands in there.

by:

Product was easy to install. Came with simple instructions as well as online installation video. I purchased and installed this myself for a fraction of the cost that my local dealership wanted. I saved over $100.

by:
2010 Hyundai Santa-Fe

I received my order promptly and had no issues installing anything - the videos on etrailer were definitely a life-saver. Thanks so much!

by:
Hyundai Santa Fe

Trailer hitch and Wiring Harness fit perfectly on my Hyundai Santa Fe and were easy to install. Bolts fit the frame nuts exactly and I didn't have to remove any of the vehicle parts to install the hitch. The instructional videos made it easy.

by:
2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

The wiring harness was exactly "as advertised" and everything fit as it was shown in the installation video. I wasn't able to get the interior side panel completely removed, but was still able to get to the existing wiring and make the connections. It took longer than I expected, but then I've never done this before!

by:

EZ install. I did have a problem plugging the 12v connector in, the rubber dust seal (orange in color) needed to be removed from inside of the connector on the supply side. Perhaps it normally comes out when you remove the dust cover.

by:
2012 Hyundai Santa Fe

On my 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe SE with tow package it was a simple install. Easy to install and route wires like the installation video showed. The harness and plugs were all quality made. Would definitely order again.

by:
2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I ordered the package for a 2007 Hyundai. I received was as advertised.

My 21 year old daughter wanted to install it, she followed the video instructions. Had a successful installation. It did take a little longer than the suggested 30 minutes. I assume that for someone who had a lot of experience the 30 minutes might be right.

We experienced issues on trying to get the left rear trim panel off for access. this porton of the video might have been explained better.

Overall it was easy to do, wished I had done it

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring for 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe with No Power to Pins
Is it factory trailer wiring or aftermarket? Most likely the converter box has an internal short now and is in need of replacing as this is the common problem. You can test the converter box but most likely it's time for new wiring with the part # 118258 which does have an inline fuse so if you had this kit you could check there if present. What you will want to do is test the wires going into the box of the converter box for voltage with a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 to see if...

  • Installation of Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness 118258 On a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
I have attached an installation video of the # 118258 wiring harness on a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe for you. The installation is pretty straight forward once you have gained access to the factory connectors. To do this, you are going to start by lowering the spare tire, and then you would open up the cargo area and remove the access panels, threshold trim, trunk floor panels and trays. Proceed by removing the trim panel on the driver side, but make sure you remove the fastener on the driver...

Hey Zohar! Since your 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe has the factory towing package you'll want the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package item # 118258. This harness is designed as a replacement for the OEM tow package wiring. It has added protection of an inline circuit breaker and it also comes with the grommet to keep debris our of the connection location. I have linked an installation video below so you can see how to get it set up. If you have any additional questions go ahead...

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendations for a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe
If your 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe does not have the tow package from the factory, you would need wiring harness # 118415. To be absolutely sure on whether or not the vehicle is so equipped, have the dealer run the VIN. They will be able to tell you what equipment it has with that information. As far as I have been able to find, the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe, any model, was not equipped with a 7-Way. In order to add one, it would be a hardwire situation that would include adding a 4-Way first and...

  • How to Tell if a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Already has Trailer Wiring
Check the rear of your 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe and see if there is already a 4-Way installed at the rear or if it is possibly sitting on the inside of your hatch area possibly under one of the panels. If you cannot find the 4-Way then you don't already have one installed. If you don't already have a 4-Way then odds are that you don't have the tow package and you would need the T-One # 118415. • How to Determine if a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe has a Tow Package
From the research I did the easiest way to determine if you have a tow package would be to check to see if your 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe has a transmission cooler mounted in front of the radiator. A transmission cooler looks basically like a miniature radiator that will be mounted in front of the radiator. If your vehicle has a transmission cooler then you know it has a tow package.
