I have attached an installation video of the # 118258 wiring harness on a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe for you. The installation is pretty straight forward once you have gained access to the factory connectors.
To do this, you are going to start by lowering the spare tire, and then you would open up the cargo area and remove the access panels, threshold trim, trunk floor panels and trays. Proceed by removing the trim panel on the driver side, but make sure you remove the fastener on the driver side end of the threshold area, as this one is required to remove the panel but is easy to miss.
Once you have opened up the area, you will then take off the cover on the driver side and expose the trailer input harness, which will lead back into a round grommet. Moving to the under side of your Santa Fe, locate the same trailer input harness and grommet, which should be behind the tire on the driver side. Push the harness into the vehicle cargo area, so that the grommet and additional length are pushed up into the cargo area.
At this point, you move back into the cargo area and take the protective caps off the vehicle trailer input connectors, being careful not to damage the locking tabs. The connectors on the # 118258 harness will plug together with these connectors.
You will see that the side of the harness with the 4-Way plug has a grommet on it, that will match up to the hole you opened up when pushing the vehicle harness into the cargo area. Route the 4-Way plug into this opening until the new grommet aligns with the hole. Once this is done, you would simply need to find an unobtrusive spot to mount the black converter box, using the included double-sided tape, and tidy up the remaining 4-Way wiring using the included cable ties. You want to make the wires are secure and out of the way, so they will not rattle around and become pinched or worn.
At this point, you can go ahead and reinstall the trim, access, and threshold panels in the cargo area before you move back underneath the vehicle to route the 4-Way to a point more central and close to the trailer hitch. When routing the wiring, make sure you run it over the bumper brace and that you avoid any hot areas like the heat shield, and also be careful to ensure it will not become pinched. Install a mounting bracket or a mounting box like part # C42CR or # 18140, and you are all set.
If needed, you can see the installation instructions online at the link provided.
