Reduced axle sag with Timbren suspension enhancement

Just like the rear of your vehicle will sag under the weight of a fully loaded bed, the front of your vehicle will sag when under the burden of heavy equipment such as a snowplow. In this case, the front axle is handling not only the weight of the equipment, but also more of the vehicle's weight. Overall vehicle handling - traction, steering, and braking - is negatively affected. But the resistance from Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System works with your factory suspension to keep your vehicle level and improve your driving experience.

Install diagrams of Timbren hollow rubber springs

The Timbren system comes with custom-fit brackets that are bolted onto each frame rail above your front axle. Hollow rubber springs are bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down so that the bottom of each spring touches the axle. Because each spring is making constant contact with the axle, it is always working to cushion and support your factory suspension.

Animation of a standard Timbren rubber spring

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape increases resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping your vehicle level.

Timbren suspension system works to prevent body roll

Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's-side or passenger's-side of your vehicle. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when you're carrying off-center loads.

A snowplow mounted to the front of the truck will require extra suspension support for the front axle.

Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System will help raise the front end of your vehicle when you're using heavy equipment like a snowplow. This ensures that your headlight beams will be pointed in the right direction and tire wear will be reduced. If the plow is off-center or has an extension, the springs will automatically compensate for this as well.

An empty truck on a bumpy road without Timbren

Another great feature of the rubber construction is that the springs absorb most of the road shock, creating a smoother, more stable ride overall. Wear and tear on the factory suspension is also lessened because the rubber springs work to prevent bottoming out on rough roads.

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Compared to the Competition

Timbren's Suspension Enhancement Systems are much easier to install than air springs - there are no air hoses to run, no compressors or gauges to hook up, and no manual adjustments to make. The rubber construction makes Timbren's springs more elastic than similar products constructed of microcellular urethane. More elasticity allows for a more comfortable ride because the rubber has more travel.

The Timbrens SES (front and back) works very well on my 2913 Ford E350 heavy duty ambulance. No more leaning when turn the corners and it’s not too bouncy. I had a local shop install them cuz I don’t have a big/high jack to raise the vehicle. Highly recommend the Timbrens .

Placed order on Monday product received on Thursday. Installation was easy only needed use of a bottle jack and socket wrench. The ride was improved and side to side sway in windy conditions is much less. Test conditions wind 15mph with 30mph gusts.

2017 Thor Chateau Super C Motorhome

Timbren products are amazing, great quality easy to install and they really enhanced the drive ability of our motorhome. Increase stability and the ride difference is amazing.i also have these installed on the rear. Highly recommended. Etrailer customer service was spot on when they recommended this product.

I just installed these Timbren's on the front of my Ford E-450 motorhome. I have always installed Timbren's on my pickup trucks and have always been extremely happy with them, so now that I have bought a motorhome, it was among the first things I have done to it. With a 6,000 lb weight rating, and being in constant contact, I am completely confident that there will never be any sagging. Ever! Installation was a little tough since there was very little clearance or room for the socket and ratchet, but it most certainly can be done.

by:
2016 Ford Edge

The system was as easy as stated to install...the hardest part is getting motorhome lifted high enough to work on! After that very east to install!

by:

Fast delivery, have used Timbren before, really reduced sway on Class A gas

by:

Soften the ride on bridges and RR tracks. Also stopped body roll and the lean while driving in the wind. Very satisfied!

I know it will be lovely when loaded or the trailer on. However,it rides like a wagon empty with brand new premium shocks and struts empty. Thud thud thud. You really cannot feel the shocks or suspension. Found exact same item plentiful for 60 bucks on eBay after I bought these for 250. I may cut these in half or put air bag on. I do not like the ride empty. No hard feelings. It is a good product maybe just not for me.

by:

About a 1/2 inch difference in gap at the bump stop perch but still within parameters. Truck sits perfect with trailer attached. Haven’t towed yet. After towing if they perform like they should will upgrade to a 5 star. Easy to install, definitely needed 2x4 and jack. 2011 Silverado ext cab with 30 ft Genisis 5th wheel.

by:

Was able to install these with a 15mm flex head ratchet wrench and lifted the rear of the truck to make it easier. 30 minutes to take off 4 nuts and put em back on. 2 minutes assembling the timbrens with the added spacer. I have a f350 with a salter and plow. Loaded with salt the lights shoot up and in the snow ?? it’s like hitting hyper drive and you’re blinded. These helped big time. Very happy so far.

by:

The pro: The longer, heavier bump stops worked great when hauling my mustang home from Chicago. The truck stayed level and handled great.
The con: I had to remove the bump stops for everyday use. They limited my suspension travel causing a stiffer ride.

by:

Haven’t had it on long, but so far so good. 1999 F350 dually. Bolted up nicely. Total job took 10 minutes. Have hauled two gooseneck loads of hay and truck drives SO much better. Nice and level. Money well spent so far.

by:

I am so glad I bought these for my truck. I was able to install them myself using a jack and jackstands. The ride is bit rougher now; but the suspension is totally awesome compared to before. I am able to haul a bit more weight when needed.

by:

  • Recommended Front Suspension Enhancement for a 2018 Thor Quantum Motorhome RC25
The Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System part # TFEF350 is rated at 3,000 lbs and the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System part # TFEF350UH is rated at 6,000 lbs. I was able to call the manufacturer to confirm this. They will both fit your 2018 Thor Quantum Motorhome RC25 on a Ford E-450 chassis but I recommend using the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System part # TFEF350UH as it will be better suited for your motorhome. This system is also very easy to install as...

  • Which Timbren is Best Choice for 2019 Ford E-Series Cutaway
Unfortunately the most comfortable ride can be subjective. My suggestion is that if at present time you have hard contact with factory axle bump stops on frame and a very rough or unstable ride in turns, I would definitely select the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System, # TFEF350UH. If the current ride does not typically "bottom out" except for very rougher patches of road, then I would select the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System, # TFEF350.

  • Installation Process for Timbren Springs on 2021 Thor Chateau 27R
I'll start off by saying that currently there are no SumoSprings that have been confirmed to fit on the 2021 Thor Chateau 27R, so that's why there are not any showing up in our fit guide for your coach. However, the Timbren # TFEF350UH and # TFERSDLB are a good choice that will provide the same functionality and perform comparably. The Timbrens are also a progressively strengthening spring like the Sumo Springs in that they get stiffer as loads are applied to them; they also provide the...

For your 2017 Thor Axis 25.3 Rv Ford E-350 chassis I recommend the Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway Bar Item # RM-1139-176 This will vastly minimize sway and driver fatigue by improving the stability and driveability of your Ford E-Series chassis. The bar on this sturdy, effective anti-sway system mounts to the front axle and to the frame to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. For the front I recommend the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System Item # TFEF350UH as these front...
