Will Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack Fit 2022 Mini Cooper

Hi Is the saris bones ex3 suitable for my Mini Cooper 2022 model? I have conflicting information, some saying as the top of the hatch is plastic the rack isn’t suitable. If it is suitable do I need hatch huggers and where do I install them? Thank you

Hi Gillian; the Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack # SA803 will fit your 2022 Mini Cooper as long as you have the hardtop model and Hatch Huggers # SA3035 replace the top hooks. However, you're limited to 2 bikes/70 lbs so the 3 bike rack doesn't do you much good (I'm assuming you actually want to carry 3 bikes). What you can use instead is the Yakima HangOut 3 Bike Rack # Y02638. This doesn't have the same 2 bike restriction so you can carry up to 3 bikes at 35 lbs per bike.
