Will Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack Fit 2021 Lexus NX 300

I recently bought the Saris Bones EX3 for my 2021 Lexus NX 300 and found that the upper rack hooks do not fit properly in the space between the hatch and the roof. Am I missing something? Did I get the wrong bike rack? I have an older Saris trunk rack that fits perfectly on a 2016 Honda HRV and that rack had the same issue when I tried it on the Lexus..the curvature of the upper hooks does not allow for a proper, snug fit. Please advise. Thanks much
