2009 Jeep Liberty - Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, -6 AN Inlets - Class V

  • Remote Cooler
  • With - 6 AN Inlets
  • Remote Mount
  • 12-3/4W x 9-3/8T x 4-5/16D Inch
  • Derale

12-3/4" Wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep, remote cooler assembly features a high-efficiency, plate-and-fin heat-exchanger core with 500-CFM tornado fan for maximum airflow, ensuring optimum performance for your automatic transmission.

Features:

  • Offers superior airflow with 500-CFM, reversible tornado fan
  • Mounts anywhere with aluminum mounting brackets

    • Aluminum AN fittings
    • Brass hose-barb adapters

    • Insta-dapt radiator adapter
    • All necessary mounting hardware

Specs:

  • Distance between inlets: 8-9/16"
  • Mounting dimensions: 4" tall x 11-5/8" wide
  • 1-Year warranty

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

With a fan-mounted heat exchanger unit, you can be sure that there will always be optimum airflow for your engine oil cooler no matter where your cooler is mounted or what sort of environment you are traveling through. Couple that with the highly efficient, plate-fin core - wherein finned chambers provide increased surface area, allowing superior heat transfer with minimum pressure drop - and you have a truly effective heat-exchange system.

This system is ideal for late-model, electronic overdrive transmissions in which ensuring proper cooling and pressure maintenance is of the utmost importance.

The fan is nice, the brass compression barbed fittings did not work. They leaked from both threads. I paid for fancy with a quickness 2 day shipping, took 5 days. I’m just glad I wasn’t too much in a hurry to cool my dads transmission for his road trip.

by:

Everything was included to install the cooler and instruction sheet is useful. Hardest issue is where to mount. No leaks so far. Should help trans temps while towing.

  • Reducing Transmission Heat When Towing with 2008 GMC Yukon Hybrid
I checked the online owner's manual for the 2008 GMC Yukon hybrid and on page 4-22 it notes that the maximum loaded trailer weight this vehicle can tow is 6200-lbs (if 2WD) or 6000-lbs (if 4WD). If your unloaded trailer's dry weight is 6700-lbs then the vehicle may well be heating up from being overloaded. You might check your printed manual just in case it has different information about towing capacity. It is not possible to add towing capacity to a vehicle by installing aftermarket...

  • Reducing Transmission Heat While Towing With a 2012 GMC Sierra
Absolutely! The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, -6 AN Inlets - Class V part # D13950 is the perfect add on to bring those transmission temperatures down for you. It will install and work in conjunction with your original cooler and will have no adverse effects on the original one. This is simply going to help in addition to the original making for a cooler running system. This one is the one I would go with as the fan is going to do a better job at cooling than...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder 4X4 SE and 6K Trailer
For a trailer weighing 6,000 pounds I recommend going with a stacked-plate cooler because they will be the most efficient and will provide the best cooling compared to the other cooler options. For a kit you can use # D13403. For the best cooling you can get a cooler that comes with its own fan like # D13950. This will provide the optimum cooling no matter where the unit is mounted. I have included a link to our FAQ article on transmission coolers for you.

  • Which Derale Remote Transmission Cooler for 2010 Chevy Silverado 4.8 Liter D13950 or D13960
Both the Derale transmission coolers you mentioned would work great installed on your 2010 Chevy Silverado with a 4.8 liter V8. The part # D13960 is the more efficient style of cooler as it has a stacked plate whereas the # D13950 is a plate and fin cooler which is still really effective but not quite as effective as the stacked plate. Now both of these are easily more powerful than you'd need to get the job done so if you go with either you'll have very cool transmission fluid that will...

  • Transmission Cooler Kit Recommendation for 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 5.3L Engine
For your situation, the best, most-effective transmission cooler I can recommend for you is the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit with Fan # D13950. You will also want to use the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035, so you do not need to flare lines for installation. When driving in the city, easy and abundant air flow to the factory or aftermarket transmission cooler is not as available as when driving on a flat, open highway. The # D13950 cooler with...

The hitch opening of both Curt hitches you mentioned are going to sit right under the bumper of your 2013 Chevy Silverado. Check out the picture I attached that shows the # C15323 installed on a truck like yours. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13503, will provide extra cooling to help keep your transmission at normal temperatures when towing. Whether or not any cooler will provide enough cooling depends on many factors specifically related to your vehicle and trailer setup. I did a bit of checking on the 2006 Nissan Titan towing capacities and found that the 2006 Titan is rated for somewhere between 9,200 lbs and 9,500 lbs Gross trailer weight, properly loaded...

The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan # D13950 that you referenced should work well for you. It will provide you with excellent airflow in traffic and would not impede airflow at highway speeds. This fan and cooler combination was designed to do exactly what you are trying to do so it would work very well for you. However, I would recommend you keep your factory cooler and run this cooler as a supplemental cooler. You would want to route the transmission fluid first...

  • Transmission Cooler with Fan Recommendation for 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500
The Derale Atomic Remote Cooler part # D13950 would be a really great option for a very efficient cooler that comes with a fan. It's a very efficient cooler style and size plus has a fan that can move 500 CFM so it will do a great job keeping your transmission fluid cool which will prolong the life of it. It also comes with all needed hardware to install.

  • Parts Needed to Install a Transmission Cooler on a 2004 Buick Rainier With 3600 Stall Converter
My research shows that you will need to add the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting, # D13035, to the Derale Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13504, that you selected, to complete the installation on your 5.3 liter V8 GM motor. This cooler would work fine to help cool the transmission for towing. It sounds as if you are building a street strip application, with a 3600 stall converter, so I would recommend going with a Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13950. This...

  • Recommended Remote Mounted Transmission Cooler for 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser with Supercharged Engine
Rather than a passive cooler like the # D13225, in order to get effective supplemental cooling for your transmission you'll really need a remote mount cooler with a fan. The # D13225 cooler you'd looked at would get very little air flow if mounted on your frame rail, and given the fact that you've obviously made some pretty serious upgrades to your engine you'll want something that's more effective as a passive cooler would be nearly useless. I'd recommend the Derale # D13950 which can...

The ports on the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, # D13950, do not need to be mounted in any particular direction. The transmission cooler is not directional so having the inlet on the top or bottom does not matter. You will want to choose the inlet or outlet port location by what will make your installation easier. Since this cooler comes with a fan-mounted heat exchanger you can mount the exchanger wherever you want because the fan will provide optimum airflow.

Most cars, light trucks, and SUV's nowadays have either 3/8" or 11/32" transmission lines. I was not able to find the exact size transmission line for your 2017 Hyundai Tucson but the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13950 comes with adapter fittings that will work with 5/16", 3/8", and 11/32" transmission lines. As long as you have 12-3/4" wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep of space to mount this cooler anywhere on the vehicle, then it will work well for you.

  • How to Determine Which is the Return Line on the Factory Transmission Cooler of 2006 Chevy Equinox
I can tell you an easy way to figure out which line is the return line and which is the feed line on the transmission cooler of your 2006 Chevy Equinox. For a transmission cooler that will work well in your 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 6.2L V8 engine, I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13504.
